I think this is a good poll. I did not vote because I am not an expert on all of Hagar's solo albums. The first Montrose album is a great album. Of course that's not solo, so to rate the Hagar solo albums I own the order the would be this.
1. Marching To Mars
2. Ten/13
3. Unboxed
4. Red Voodoo

Standing Hampton is by far his best. This one put Sammy on the map for good. One Way to Rock, Heavy Metal, all staples of any SH show these days.

"Danger Zone" is a really underrated album. I think that's Sammy's best album, followed by VOA.

Gotta say I've been kind of suprised with the results here - although I don't know if everyone actually voted or just listed their albums of choice. The fact that Ten 13 is winning surprises me, don't know if it's just because it's his latest or because it's really that good (never heard it, so I couldn't tell you). I thought Three Lock Box and/or V.O.A. would've had more votes and probably Standing Hampton to be number one - again, the only one of these I've ever heard in its entirety would've been V.O.A., and that was probably 17 years ago or more - but it seems Standing Hampton gets a lot of good said about it around here. Hopefully some more people will chip in their votes - gotta be more fans of Sammy's solo output around here than the 16 who voted...

Here's my take on the Sammy albums pre-VH.
I like about half of each one. Half of SH, half of 3LB and half of VOA. If you could combine all those halves into one album, THAT would rock!
Post-VH, I'd give the thumbs up to MTM, then 1013 then half of Red Voodoo.
What is this about me and a bunch of Sammy halves?I'm not slaggin' the guy...he's one of my faves. It's just that his solo stuff has about 3-4 songs per album I could do without, especially Red Voodoo. In fact, I'd say that it appears that Sam was tossing out song ideas for "commercial beds".
-Red Voodoo (a new hot sauce from south of the border)
-Mas Tequila ('nuff said)
-"1013" or "Tropic of Capricorn" (the new theme song to the Cabo San Lucas Dept. of Tourism)
-"Who Has the Right" (the official theme song for N.O.W.)
Good stuff, just not what I'd like to hear on his cd's."Once the final BAN has been completed I will ban myself." -OLO, March 21, 2002
"The price of the steak sandwich over there is ridiculous!!" -Glenn, March 3, 2003
"Hang on, I'll go ask everybody and be right back." -seenbad, March 11, 2003

Pop just needs to retire. He’s not healthy enough to coach anymore. If you’re having a stroke, whether it’s mild old or not, it’s time to let it go.
