This thread have been on my mind since forever. And is the most simple one:
Which song from any era would you like them to re-record, re-edit, redo?
An example:
From Diver Down/ Hang 'em High
Van Halen 2/ Light Up the Sky
OU812/ Source of Infection
VH3/ ...the whole album
What do u think?Do you think we migth still have to wait anyway?

Well... re-do a song?!
Nah.....
But I think some albums could really need a whole new mix-down.....
(I'm talking of OU812 and likes, especially that one majorly lacks of bass in the mix... you can hardly hear the bass guitar on Cabo Wabo, etc. and sometimes I wonder if there's even some bass, be it drums or bass guitar, on Mine All Mine ).I'm a Dirty-Faced Kid... so could some cute female do me the favor and lick me clean, please?!<br /><br />"Nobody rules these streets at night but me... the ATOMIC PUNK!" - DLR (1978)<br /><br />"This must be just like living in paradise... and I don't wanna go home" - DLR (1988)<br /><br />"So put it off until judgment day... I bear the cross on judgment day" - Sammy Hagar (1991)<br /><br />Obey the DFK!<br /><br /><b>IF YOU'RE DFK... YOU'RE DFK 4 LIFE!</b>

I would like to see them redo some unreleased songs from a long time ago, but from the studio albums I'd say And The Cradle Will Rock.

to Georgie,
i never said Van Hagar sucked...
actually i even listen to some of that stuff, like "don't tell me what love can do"
... killer riff.
but, to keep it short, i prefer listening to classic Van Halen or DLR. and i really give it a shit if his solo stuff sells poorly.
if some of you prefer Hagar's solo stuff, fine with me. no bashing here
cheers,
SToRMdave, we'd like to go upstairs, the two of us, with you ...

Jump without the keyboards?! That defines the song and is some of the most recognizable music around!

Achievements:
I'd love to hear them dust off either Let's Get Rockin or We Die Bold. The lyrics might need some work (frankly I can't remember them off the top of my head), but Eddie does some awesome guitar work in each of these songs that I'd love to hear again. Even as b-side material.

Cool topic.
I'd go with one of the older ones as well, probably Babe dont leave me alone, or Big trouble.
But I'd also be curious to see them redo, ala eric clapton and layla, and the cradle will rock and I think Secrets has some possibilities. It would be cool to have them rock that one up a bit. I'll wait could be cool too.sheepa latta peepah dabba looka foh a moopy

if van halen ever did an album where they re-recorded songs i choose
VH: I'm The One
VHII: Light Up The Sky
WACF: Everybody Wants Some!!
Fair Warning: Unchained (i bet this one would rock)
Diver Down: Hang 'Em High
1984: Jump
5150: Best Of Both Worlds (with heavy guitar like they do live)
OU812: Do like a 10 minute blues jam version of A Apolitical Blues
thats about it for me

You know their status as b-side stuff. They hate them.

Hey Kenyon, nice signature from Carlin...See mine for compaison.
As for my favorite string of three: Sinner's Swing!, Hear About It Later, and Unchained, from Fair Warning.
Waiting patiently for the return of Van Halen.................She's as strong as the mountains, walks tall as a tree.
