Vh´s Hard Of Soft Songs?

I prefer the rockin songs. I like a good ballad like most people, but it's the hard rocking songs that make you feel like you can fly. And when I listen to rock and roll, I'm looking to be inspired. Van Halen have a ton of songs that give me that inspiration, like the one I'm listening to right now, Little Guitars. Songs like Atomic Punk and Light Up the Sky are great songs for driving if you want to get there in record time, or just get a record.

Dave is a master at slower songs, though I wouldn't really call his ballads. Songs like Sensible Shoes, Tell the Truth, Night Life, Black Sand, Damn Good, Coconut Grove.

It really depends on my mood (like most people I guess), but for the most part I like the "harder" rock songs.

It's cool that most VH albums have a lot of everything. I like the heavy songs, Don't Tell Me, Unchained & Me Wise Magic ect... and the softer stuff like Secrets, When It's Love & Josephina are great too. I dig the fact that I can throw in every VH cd & skip maybe 3 songs, if that.

VH was built on Rock and Roll...and even though it's good to see the range now and then....I wouldn't pick a freaking ballad in a million years...unless y'all are counting secrets...which I wouldn't...

Not ballads Poj, but songs like that are "mellow" like Secrets or Black Sand. I might pick a ballad, if I'm tryin to impress a chick who's into that........ but for the most part, it's rockin songs.

I prefer the rockers. But it depends on the mood I'm in at the time. I heard "Love Walks In" earlier today on the radio and got a warm feeling inside...( I agree Glenn, When It's Love is one of my lesser favorite Sammy era ballads...I like Not Enough, Love Walks in.................................. and Feels So Good (my personnel favorite Sammy ballad)

Speaking of slower songs I was listening to the Skyscraper CD the other day and had forgotten how great the song: "Damn Good" is.

That is such a great DLR solo song...Kind of reflecting on good times once had...It was almost poignant.

Anyone agree?
