    Yes, you did, but I think I know the answer, so it's no big deal

    IIRC, it has been said on here before that they are the backs of lights used on their stage setup.

    I'll move this over to the proper forum while I'm at it.

    For $64, the answer is:

    It's a photo taken during World War II of an assembly line in an aircraft manufacturing plant. The items on the line were heavy-duty glass enclosures that ultimately ended up on the fuselages of bombers like the B-29.

    I've looked at pictures of the of the B-29 nose assembly, and their glass enclosures don't have a big round hole in them.

    So, I don't buy that until I see more evidence...

    A parabolic aluminized reflector lamp (also PARCAN light, PARcan, or simply PAR) is a type of electric lamp widely used in theatre and concerts.

    Here's a picture of one:
