the band were on top form but the cd just seemed flat , the video had a strange filter fuckup and overall it seemed a missed oportunity..

It was overdubbed so many times, it was hardly "live."

I like the album but the VHS/DVD song selection and editing sucks. Did they have to include every song from FUCK on it? No 5150 songs?

I think the production was too polished for a live album, plus Sammy tended to shout when trying to hit the high notes. Also the album should have included more of the bands earlier work...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

    Productions was spotty.

Too much FUCK (now that's something I thought I'd never say...).

Not enough 5150. Source Of Infection might have played well as an instrumental. But we'll never know.

Basically, the album just sounds stale. The songs sound almost exactly the same as they were recorded. I guess it's a damned if you do/don't situations, but the songs are too 'standard.'

Remember the video for DTNA? That live version kicked ass. There was energy to it. (Perhaps because it was from the Classic =VH= era? ) That kind of energy was lacking on LRHRN. The cover of One Way To Rock was really the only thing that smoked, IMO.

A Sammy cover smoked on a VH "live" album. <--- That should tell the tale...
