Just wondering guys...with so many boots out there.....
Why do a majority of them have mistakes like crazy??????
I know it's one thing to get a location or date wrong after it's changed hands a few times........but what about all the song title mistakes?????
And why do many boots play stuff out of order of the concert too???
This is obviously a concern that must have been touched on many times.....but I am a newbie lol

My guess is that many boots are produced outside of the U.S. For instance, many boots from the 3 tour in Japan have all kinds of errors, even though the overall packaging and sound quality is often excellent.

Somebody started a topic here a while back saying that he'd checked and something Dave said onstage in the clubs made the date wrong on the bootleg it was on. It makes you wonder how many of those dates from the really old bootlegs are accurate.
Anyway, I'm inclined to believe that part of the reason for errors is that the bootleggers are not necessarily huge fans of the band they're recording. Therefore they get titles wrong or even dates wrong.

Bingo, Glenn! You hit the nail on the head! It always puzzles me when you see a foreign-produced boot and you just know that the producer was under the gun to just get something out. How many times have we gotten shows that have the chorus listed as the song title? Credibility is not one of stronger characteristics of these bootleggers.
It also makes me disgusted when a boot comes out, say for a Sammy show, and there's a picture of Dave on it (or an old pic of Ed). C'mon guys...at least TRY to make it jive with the actual show!!! I've tried to do that for a couple of the shows I've traded with some people.
So I'm anal...about details. I better watch what I say.

BTW, thanks Glenn! Thru the magic of on-line editing, 1979 becomes 1978!!

Well said Glenn!
I was the one who posted that the show believed to be 6-1-76 can't be.. because Dave says to the crowd.. "Playin for ya on a good Tuesday Night."..
I'm still tryin' to put together the RIGHT dates on the old stuff.
