These two releases are mostly regarded as the weakest album for each band respectively. In your opinion which is the better album and why?

“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

A Rock and a Hard Place is the most under-rated Aerosmith album ever - and it kicks the living shite out of ANYTHING they've recorded since.

That album could've been a great comeback - if it carried on the way it stared - Jailbait, Bitch's Brew, Lightning Srtikes - it was almost like Rocks 2!!! - as soon as Cry me a River hits it goes downhill. Prelude and Joanie are great tracks - but they should've been the only ballady/weird trippy songs on the disc.

Side 2's songs are a little too jazzy for my liking too - but it is their last GREAT album IMO.
