1) What song was left off the Best of Volume 1 that you think should have been on it?
(Romeo Delight is mine)
2) What, if you had to pick one, is your favorite song from Van Halen III?
(Tough between Fire in the Hole, and Once, I actually like it)
3) What(excluding the exceedingly unpopular How Many Say I) is the worst VH Song ever?
(Worst song I've heard? Ballot or the Bullet, or Without You)
4) And the opposite, what is the best VH Song ever?
(Very tough, but Unchained takes the cake)

1. Several! But I guess I'll go with either Romeo Delight or So This Is Love?
2. That's Why I Love You
3. I'd probably have to go with A Political Blues.
4. No way I could narrow that down to just one ... or even four or five for that matter. Well, I guess I'll give it a try. The least I can do is try to answer your question.
I'll go with:
I'm The One
Somebody Get Me A Doctor
Romeo Delight
So This Is Love?
The Full Bug
Me Wise Magic
There's definitely some more that could all be tied for number one, but I guess I'll just go with those for now. "One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne
"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello
"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

"(Oh) Pretty Woman" - it was pretty big, would've represented Diver Down and would've given me the single version on CD.

I've only heard two songs off the album (well, three because "Fire In The Hole" was in "Lethal Weapon 4", but I have no idea what song it was) - "Without You" and "How Many Say I" - and it sure as hell isn't "How Many Say I"!

Haven't heard every song release under the name "Van Halen" but out of those I have, I'd have to give it to "Strung Out".

I wouldnt argue with Romeo Delight, but little guitars would be my pick.

Year to the day That was a kick ass tune live. Totally climatic on the III tour. Wedged eds solo in there just perfectly and came back to the song perfectly too. I also enjoyed Josephina live. I know its many folks least favorite ever, but it was cool to see ed having fun up there playing it.

I'd say strungout, if that counts as a song. I'd rather compair it to skidding a piano down the street with a tape recorder taped on to it though. If not, then probably from afar off III.

My personal favorite is In a Simple Rhyme, with I'm the one as a close runner up.

I'd have to say HOT FOR TEACHER (only because it was a giant hit and it's still a great track...yes, yes I know it was on the Japanese version. I mean, seriously, the song was a much bigger hit and more well known than most of the other tracks on the BEST OF. I would have put it over POUNDCAKE or ERUPTION. Opening a BEST OF with a guitar solo just didn't do it for me. They also should have replaced CAN'T STOP LOVIN' YOU with DON'T TELL ME (in my opinion). (There really was actually room for one more song on the CD.)
2) What, if you had to pick one, is your favorite song from Van Halen III?
(Tough between Fire in the Hole, and Once, I actually like it)
I don't like the album very much, but I've always had a soft spot for JOSEPHINA. I really like that track and think it's good that they replaced the awful THAT'S WHY I LOVE YA with this track.
3) What(excluding the exceedingly unpopular How Many Say I) is the worst VH Song ever?
(Worst song I've heard? Ballot or the Bullet, or Without You)
I'd be quick to pick a song off VHIII, but I'd have to say MAN ON A MISSION. Just an awful song.
4) And the opposite, what is the best VH Song ever?
(Very tough, but Unchained takes the cake)
UNCHAINED, although Glenn, you're right, LITTLE GUITARS is a great track.

awesome topic.
1) hot for teacher, because it was actually popular among the masses, plus the vid was cool. little guitars would be my actual pick, but because it's a greatest hits album, it would best be HFT.
2)don't have it, but of all that i've heard, gotta be fire in the hole, and i also liked twily, but i guess that's splitting hairs.
3) spanked. i bet alot of you have seen me post about how much i despise this song. i laughed pretty hard at seenbad's interpretation of strung out though.
4)me wise magic. but after reading everyone's choices, i remember why i love van halen so much. they are all brilliant.

I got a chance to listen to some more VHIII stuff(Neworld is a great work by EVH), including the not used TWILY. Once, TWILY, and Neworld put the other III stuff into perspective--I'd have to say Neworld and Once are my favorites that I've heard off VHIII, but I'm still getting more songs. I really like those two, tho.
Ballot or the Bullet was terrible, and I'm scared to get "How Many Say I" given the terrible reactions to it, but another one(not the worst by Van Halen, but definitely overrated) was Poundcake, it wasn't that great, it wasn't terrible, and certainly not their worst, but it wasn't that great.

Achievements:
1. Many - I think BOV1 should have been either a double CD with one Dave era disc and one Sam era, or it should have been only Dave era, with Vol 2 being Sam era. If I had to choose, Dave era would be Little Guitars and/or Mean Street, and from the Sammy era, Don't Tell Me
2. Once, or Josephina live
3. Strung Out, since we're including it
4. Changes, right now it's a hard call between Mean Street and Human's Being, but Dreams always makes me turn up the volume.

Yeah, when your agenda is to obstruct, you'll find a reason to obstruct, unless it's somebody the uniparty wants. That's how these country club politicians run work. If Trump were to suddenly reverse...
