Lets say Warner Bros. put out a cd called 'Van Halen - The David Lee Roth Years' jam-packed with all the clasics, and the 3 "astonishing new tunes" - do you think it would be a big seller?

I'd say it would go top twenty, but would stick around on the charts for MONTHS!!!, maybe over a year! - you know one of those albums that sells x-amount every week. I think a lot of the nu-metal crowd would check it out - see what the fuss was all about.

I'd buy it. I doubt they would do it though because of the prior Best Of. An album full of rarities/live stuff/unreleased new songs would be huge though.

I'd buy it especially if it had some previously unreleased material on it. As for selling millions and millions of albums and sticking on the charts for over a year...I don't think so. Van Halen still has a very loyal following but their image has taken a beating the past 5 years. A lot of my friends are casual VH fans and VH is not even close on their radar screen when purchasing or downloading music.

I agree with Raldo... It would be awesome, but I don't think it would be that big unfortunately...

This is one thing I don't understand. I assume WB ownes all the VH stuff done under them. If that's the case, why haven't they tried to captialize by sending out something like that? The suits there have to know the fans are desperate for any VH morsel, and it would also make them some serious moola.

Release an old concert or two, and/or some kind of unreleased or best of thing. Hell, i'd buy it.

Sure, the new songs would make us hardcore fans happy, but casual fans already have BOV1 and they wouldn't want to buy another greatest hits album.

If would have to be filled with unreleased material for me to pick it up. I just dont think a BOVII would be the thing to do at this point.

Most of us own the first six.

New VH release(s)? It's music, baby. Timing is everything. Can you say Hall of Fame?
