Okay, some people have gone on to say they were disappointed that the remasters didn't contain bonus tracks. I say that's a good thing because an album should always be the same from the day it is released - nothing removed, nothing added, no artwork changed, etc. But still, I'd be interested to know, if Van Halen had added, let's say two bonus tracks to each CD, which bonus tracks would you have wanted with which CD?

The first two albums were obviously packed with stuff that was from the club days, so any one of alot of the unreleased songs could have ended up on VH I or II. I guess some of the ones I would have liked to hear are Let's Get Rockin', We Die Bold, Babe Don't Leave Me Alone, Big Trouble or Get the Show On the Road.

Not sure about WACF, but I would have liked them to include Voodoo Queen on Fair Warning. It's an early version of Mean Street and I love the lyrics on it.

I would love to hear the 1984 song Ripley.

I'm extremely behind these last two ideas. How cool would it be have an hour long video of the boys playing in 1976 at the Goldenwest Ballroom?

I think it sucks that the remasters don't have any additional material. I mean, who is the real intended audience for the remasters? It's most likely fans that already own all of the original releases. The spiffy sound quality is nice, but I think we should be given something extra for purchasing albums we already own. Iron Maiden and Motley Crue have done an awesome job of adding stuff to their re-releases.

    Okay, here are my picks:

Van Halen - gonna cheat and put the "House Of Pain"/"Running With The Devil" demo as one and "Babe Don't Leave Me Alone" as the other - 3 songs. That "HOP"/"RWTD" combo is interesting in that it is what became Van Halen's last song running into their first, kind of bringing the Dave years full circle, kind of like that deal on Pink Floyd's The Wall

II - if there is a studio version of "Down In Flames" somewhere, that gets the nod, along with "Light In The Sky". If there is no studio "Down In Flames", then "Angel Eyes"

Women And Children First - "Act Like It Hurts" and "Get The Show On The Road"

Fair Warning - "Voodoo Queen" and "She's The Woman"

Diver Down - "Last Night" and "Big Trouble"

Not sure what I'd put on 1984 - maybe some of the music pieces that became songs later - I think I read Edward came up for the music for "Right Now" around this time?

It would be damn cool, indeed, Glenn.

Hell, maybe they'll throw it in as part of the box set.

    I agree.

This is why I will NOT purchase the remasters. (Sorry, Glenn. I haven't been broken despite your many attempts. LOL.)

I have the original albums. What's the point of getting the same thing?

I've listened to my friend's remasters and they DO sound better, but I just can't understand why anyone would buy what they already have.

If there were bonus tracks, THEN I'd buy them.

(Along with Iron Maiden, and Motley Crue, SRV had kick-ass bonus tracks on his remasters, as well. )

they could put some mpeg live footage on a cd-rom track.
something really good quality, the videos we never saw, interviews...
there are many things they could put on those cds. (not still released in italy.. damn!!!)
