I think this has been discussed before, but is "Left For Dead" from the TOJ ep the same one that VH was working on for the follow up?
And, if it is, did VH give the song to Gary when he left?
And if so, can TOJ record more of what should have been on the 3 follow up?Can't stop...addicted to the shindig...

It was rumored "Left For Dead" was going to be a song in on the followup to 3, but (and someone correct me if I'm wrong here) I don't think anyone official has told the truth on that.
It'd be interesting if that was one of them though, and I'd be interested to hear the rest of 'em as well...

I've heard Gary say that it had the same lyrics as the VH version but with totally different music. I don't think Gary would have to ask for permisssion from VH to use it, since he wrote the lyrics.
Right Now you're reading my post!
I can't stand rap....people who can't sing do rap....you can sing rebellion as well as talk it....Hitler would have been in a rap band...

In an interview that I post on this site (look for it in the Main Discussion Forum), Gary says that the lyrics are the same, but the music is completely different. Personally, I really like TOJ's version of the song.

You know.. I really can't wait to get my hands on this album when it's finally finished. I don't think it'll sell that great, probably not even as many copies as VH3...
But I personally can't wait.

There are several hundred of us Van Halen Fans left.OK, maybe a few more than that, but you know what I mean. Now then, with that being said, I think what Larry said about TOJ not selling too well can be applied to anything else that Sammy and Dave and perhaps a non-reunited VH releases.
There are a few "throngs" of us left who MIGHT go buy it within the first few months, but I have to realize...VH and all elements related are part of a "dying breed of music".
Look at anything "new" released by ANY of the 80's rock bands. Look at anything "new" released by a large portion of 70's classic rock bands. Other than the rare exception of the Stones, Bon Jovi and Aerosmith, none of these other bands usually sell anything close to the millions they once did.
Same will go for the Van Halen/Sammy Hagar/DLR/TOJ's of the world. Their time has come and gone and unless VH saddles up again for a DLR/VH reunion, one more time, their days and opportunites of making "platinum albums" are done.
That being said, I AM looking forward to the TOJ and HSAC compilations later this year.
