Which DLR solo cd do you suggest I get???

I decided to buy a DLR album (after being convinced by a few of you!!!). But it's a toss-up between EEAS and The Best. Which one should I get??? Please help me!!!! Thank you!!! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Definitely get The Best. It has a good portion of the songs from EEAS on it, plus it's a pretty good overview of the rest of Dave's solo career.

Yeah, I'd say The Best. EEAS is good also but The Best gives you a good overview of his entire solo career. [img]smilies/cool.gif[/img]

Yep, The Best is your "best" bet. Also be on the lookout for A Little Ain't Enough - although it's commercially available now only as a punch out.

I've been jamming to ALAE this past week and it is a really good listen! It WAS a good indication of where Dave was headed with his solo career...until he did the YFLM cd. UGH! What was that all about?

OK...back to the question...

Get "The Best"...then "EEAS"...then "ALAE"...then "Skyscraper". You'll be in fine shape.

Let's not forget the MIGHTY DLR Band.

I am a major solo DLR fan for over 10 years, and I'd put that album up there with EEAS. Every song is a killer. What a comeback!!!

You can't go wrong with EEAS, DLR Band, ALAE, SS, and if you wanna get into the more eclectic side of Dave check out CFTH, and YFLM.

But yeah, The Best is a good starting off point, you're in for a real treat.

First off, if you like Southern rock, then you should definitely get YFLM. That's what that album is about, with the exception of Your Breathin It and a couple of others.

I'd suggest The Best, but your second should be ALAE. That's my favorite DLR solo album. And the stuff of the Best will hold your EEAS fix. It's got EEAS best on it. Like Ladies Night in Buffalo, Yankee Rose, Shyboy, Big Trouble, Tobacco Road & Goin Crazy. Granted it lacks I'm Easy and That's Life but still, it gives you enough of EEAS highlights.

One thing on the Best is and I'll be honest with you. I think Skyscraper wasn't well represented on that album. Where is Knuckle Bones, Bottom Line, Damn Good, Perfect Timing, 2 Fools a Minute (my favorite bass solo)..... Maybe I just like all of Dave's stuff.....

By the way, when I went to the mall today, I thought it was kind of insulting that they didn't have any DLR solo cds. I mean, it was the largest room packed with cds, wall to wall, and no DLR. I looked in the 'R' section.. that was right, wasn't it??? I guess I never thought of the 'D' section. But I assumed to find something under 'Roth, David Lee' or something. Most things are catagorized that way.

No 'R' was right. Kinda weird - if I never see any other DLR CD in a store, I usually at least see a copy or two of The Best. Don't just look for "Roth" 'cause they just might be in the 'R' bin for all the 'R' bands that the store doesn't feel merit their own section. Go to Best Buy, too. I'm pretty sure they always have it and it will be cheaper than any mall store.

Well I lost that ebay DLR cd... it wasn't my fault!!! This guy put a $20 bid on it!!! I figured I could get it cheaper somewhere. Well since it would be quicker to buy it online then to beg my mom for a trip up to Best Buy, I went on CDNOW and bought 'The Best' there!! So as soon as I get it, I'll listen to it and tell you guys what I think!! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
