Sammy's 10-13 Tour Setlist

I'm going to see Sammy next Sunday in New Orleans. I've been reading the set-lists he's been doing lately, and I'd like to see a couple of changes.

For example, "Give to Live". Whatever happened to that song? Believe it or not, it was actually a bigger hit than "55", and to me a much better song. Great groove, great beat, WANT TO HEAR IT! For some reason Sam thinks that "Eagles Fly" is so much better. It's awesome, but Sam, play your hits!

Another buried number - "High Hopes". It's relatively recent, it rocks, and it got alot of airplay. Where has that one gone?
I think he's embarrased by it because Ed told him it sucked.

Where are all the VH tunes? He has no reason to shy away from those. He was singing them for crying out loud. He was a big reason those songs were great. No one is going to accuse you Sammy of trying to be a VH cover band! Play what made you a superstar.

Maybe "Can't Stop Lovin' You" instead of "Lay Your Hand on Me", or "Best of Both Worlds" instead of "High & Dry", or "When It's Love" instead of "On the Other Hand".
Poundcake? Summer Nights? Runaround?

I guess I want to see Van-Hagar. Since I can't, I want to see the next closest thing.

In the concert that I went to he did Give To Live instead of Eagles Fly and did a Van Halen tune I didn't expect, Top Of The World. They also did Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy but it sounded awful because it was the first time they played on the entire tour. But what was disappointing was no Bad Motor Scooter, which is one of Sammy's all-time greats.

Hey Dan Halen. Wouldn't "Give to Live" be better in it's original form than acoustic?
I saw Hagar in Shreveport last year and heard no "Scooter" either.

"Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy" is kinda ironic. It was his biggest hit, #13 on charts. Yet he doesn't like it all. He said something like, "It not a song for rockers on the street." How could it not be put on "Unboxed"?

"Top of the World" is a pretty easy tune to sing. I think you or I could get up there and do it. That's the thinking behind that. I noticed that "Dreams" has been absent also. Don't think he can pull that one off anymore. He was straining at the Whiskey video in 1993! Same with Poundcake. Go with what's easiest I guess.

Yeah, it would be interesting to hear Give To Live the way it was originally recorded in concert instead of acoustic. At the concert I went to (Portland, Nov. 27th), Sammy said he didn't really like Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy that much because it was a pop hit with corny lyrics that I guess he would rather not play anymore.

Ya he played Cabo Wabo during the encore at the show I saw on the 5th. I also would have liked to hear Bad Motor Scooter. He played a shit load off of ten13. His only Halen tunes were Why Can't This Be Love, Cabo Wabo and Top of the World.
