sometimes i really think dave's lost his mind....

but ya know if u follow this link and take a look at post #14 (i think) where dave's got the guitar wearing a white shirt and baseball cap. looking pretty normal. this is how dave should be. he looks like an idiot running around with a tourbon on, or those chinese kimonos (sp?)...

and I'm a fan of his....

but Dave now is a lot weirder than he ever was. he's just in the last 5 some-odd years just gone off the deep end. i dunno if he's gettin' bad weed or what...

Before I read FilthyLilMouth's review, I said to myself, "Self, they are just screen shots."

And then I read the review... This was the most disheartening part :

"Dave looked like he’s having fun while filming this video. Although as a hardcore fan, I’m kinda disappointed. Now I realized that I’ve been living in the past. Dave has changed a lot. Watching this video makes me rethink whether going to Atlanta in May is worth it or not."

I'll be surprised (not to mention frightened LOL) if I ever fully come to understand the meaning of the 'little mermaid' routine. Hopefully the DVD is just something to have us chew on while Dave works on the new album.

I agree; I saw this picture and thought - now that's cool. I hope he takes this direction in the future.

Shit, when Dave did the video "Just a Gigilo" (which wasn't VH by any means), I didn't hear anyone saying "oh, man. Dave has lost his mind". Everyone was saying how funny it was.

I think this is funny too.

I think the problem that we have is Dave probably lost is about 20 years ago - we just didn't know because it was the 80's and it seem to fit.

Of course, it actually had a pretty good tune to go along with it. But hey, who cares about that, right? Sure, everything we've heard so far has been shit, but what does that matter? It's not like the music matters with a project like this...

Yeah, that thing about the person re-evaluating Dave after seeing this is kinda sad. Almost as sad as Dave saying "Live, from the Mojo Dojo!" over and over when he knows it's going on video.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion, but I don't think the criticism has ANYTHING to do with anyone here "being so fucking conservative." I think it has EVERYTHING to do with the DVD snippets we've all seen being pure, unadulterated crap. Not since I saw DLR performing "California Girls" on The Tonight Show back in '94 during his Vegas days have I felt so utterly embarassed for him. Plus, your "Just A Gigolo" analogy illustrates the problem many fans have with DLR -- he still thinks its 1985. Times have changed, but he unfortunately hasn't one iota.
