    Default 5150 vs OU812

We had dinner with some friends last night and one of the guys told me how he and his 30-year-old son had just recently listened to OU812 and really enjoyed it. He then told me that he thinks OU812 is a better album than 5150. I disagreed.

    Thoughts?

I love them both but I'd give OU812 the edge. It was more polished and accessible. All the girls loved it! I saw more babes at that tour than any other for VH. When you have hits like this, who could blame them?

Both good albums. But I give the edge to 5150. And it's probably cuz of the title track.

But, for me, it's very close.

While I think OU812 has more variety, I think 5150 has the better songs overall. Too bad they both didn't have the production of Balance.

5150 and OU812 remind me of of VH and VH II, especially the production on each album. I remember when I first heard VH II, I was a little disappointed that it didn't sound as raw and savage as the debut. I've read that Big Al thought the same thing.

    Talking

    Both albums are incredible.

But I prefer 0U812. It has the most variety, and it is the VH album I have played the most over the years.

I just remember not liking OU812 as much as 5150

If I was going to make a mix tape of that era I might only put about 4 off each one of them

I think Ed's guitar tone is better on OU812, but the bottom end is non-existent.

There's no question that the production on VH I is better than it is on VH II.

Sammy has said that those albums were mixed for vinyl.

For me, it was the first VH album with multiple throwaway tracks.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I'd rather listen to Inside 100 times in a row than A Apolitical Blues once.
