Would be interesting to have his touring band at least record in the studio and/or collaborate with Wolf. Just curious.

I have to say... I don't get the Wolfgang hate. I actually like a lot of his stuff. Yeah, he gets a lot of online hate, mostly many on this site who want to see him go play Panama in his sets. Good for him for doing his own thing. You don't have to like it... but he is trying to sell rock to 34 year olds, not 64 year olds.

I think the videos are cool and some of his material is really catchy. Not all of it. I liked his first record a fair bit more than his second.

I don't disagree that it would be cool to see him record an album with his band - heck, for all we know, he could have had them record on some of this album, which we know nothing about aside from its single. We don't even know the album name yet.

And Brett, with all due respect... the kid has toured with Metallica and Guns 'n' Roses. So for age 34, he is doing pretty damn well. Yes, his last name got him in the door. But his talent is why artists support him. Because he's good.

Love VH, love this site. But can't stand the Wolf hate. Let it go. Don't listen if you don't like his music - it's not for everybody.

And frankly, I'd rather listen to some of Wolf's stuff than some of the garbage Sammy put out in recent years. (I do like his new song and there were 2 or 3 I liked on his last record). And as for the material that Dave leaked out that he did with John 5... there is a reason why it was never officially released. It sucks.

Naw, artists support him because of his name, not his talent. There are 100,000 other unknown musicians in LA who have more talent. Touring with GNR is easy when they hand you a slot because of your last name.

And I def have no desire to see him play Panama in his sets.

It’s not hate that’s prevalent concerning him. It’s objective analysis. He isn’t very nice to fans, and he wasn’t respectful to his predecessor. Case in point yet again…signing off on photoshopping Mike off two records.

I couldn’t care less if he ever plays another note that his father did in his lifetime. I don’t care about hearing him play Van Halen. I didn’t like him in Van Halen to begin with. It’s his bullshit attitude that bothers me. Not his music.

And BFD he opened for GNR and Metallica. If my last name was Van Halen, I could play with them too. I think people who believe otherwise are severely underestimating the value that Ed has on the entire world of rock music. He is the icon of icons, and his son is going to get special treatment because of who his dad was. Ed wasn’t just another guitar player or musician. He’s one of the most important musicians in the history of rock music. His son is reaping the rewards of that. And you just said that he’s playing for 34-year old rock fans? Then why the fuck is he playing with GNR and Metallica, whose fans are fucking old!?

And if you think Wolf’s career is anywhere near his father’s, I don’t know what to tell you. I got nothing for you there.

Yeah, he’s got some talent. He’s also not fucking Mozart. He’s been handed a career, and he’s a dick about it.

And what Sam and Dave are doing is irrelevant. They’re old men. They already paid their dues.

And I don’t need to get over it. It’s my website. Sorry. I don’t expect people to agree with me, but I’m not going to stop saying how I feel. I got one place to say it and this is it.

Yup, I saw VH4 six times, and very rarely did I watch stage right. Ya can’t expect shoehorn respect when you’ve replaced an essential OG band member for no good reason, Oh, except when I inadvertently caught some strange brewings on that first leg in ‘07.

NAILED it. I don’t see many here complaining about his music. They seem to be uninspired, but not literally sh*t-talking it. From everything I’ve seen the irritation is a response to the vitriol that spews out of his mouth and online.

His music is, quite frankly, irrelevant to most. It's not really something to crow about nor malign. It's so milquetoast nu metal, it doesn't really warrant much notice.

Would we have ever noticed it if his last name wasn't Van Halen? Nope.

I saw them 3 times. Dave and Al carried the weight in '07. Ed and Al carried the weight in '12 and '15. I never looked at the fucking kid.
