    This.

I'm sure I've brought this up a couple times, too, but you don't get the creative tension you need to grow when you A. make your records alone in your own studio, playing all the instruments yourself with the producer you hired, and B. tour with an entire backup band on your payroll. He may think it's better than all the drama his dad's band had, but all that superior music came from talented people pushing each other. His big citation for how a band is supposed to work is Foo Fighters-- another band where everyone works for the main guy, and another band where almost every song sounds like the others.

I think WVH is very talented and I'm glad he's not wasting his talent or opportunities like a lot of famous offspring would, but I wish he was in a band.

Both things are true, but he was sooooo boooooring. The only reason I listened was George Lynch.

    Agree.

I think he is immensely talented in what he brings musically . Writing, playing multiple instruments and etc. Even acting.
Its just me, but the genre he plays is just not my cup of tea. The music all kinda runs together, sounds samey and almost a relentless barrage of noise going on . Maybe if I was a little younger and into the late 90's early 2000's Foo Fighters, Creed, Nickelback, Weezer and bands of that ilk, it might be my vibe. I have tried multiple times listening to his catalog. The music is not bad by any means, does nothing for me, but what do I know?!?!?

Not sure how long he will be able to ride this current platform out with what he is doing now and with the last 2. Don't know what the need/demand is for this style, unless you are the FF. The namesake VH might only carry him so far. Doubt this will take him past headling clubs and small theaters.

I would like to see him work more in a "band" type project where he can write and collaborate with others and see what happens from there. Not just himself doing everything.

If you listen to early Foo Fighters like There is Nothing Left to Lose and Wolf’s stuff, there isn’t much similarity. Wolf wouldn’t do a song like “Aurora”, “Ain’t it the Life” or even “Next Year”.

I dunno, man... it's one thing to say this amongst fans in a forum where the artist you're talking about isn't participating. It's another to post it TO the person you're talking about on social media. Then it becomes unsolicited advice. I've gotten that from comics fans here and there, and it can come off as rude no matter how civil you're trying to be about it.

I would never say what I said here in my earlier post directly TO the guy.

The simple change for me would be Wolf recording music with his 'touring' band. The first album, fine, record it all yourself. But now that you seem to have dedicated musicians to tour with you, invite them into the studio with you. I just think it would give the music a little more life...or some. lol
