Default NAMM 2025 - EVH Gear and More

I am currently sitting on a decent amount of Sweetwater gift cards, but I am holding out to see what EVH gear may have in store for us at NAMM. Anybody have any insider info?

I don’t have any leaks, but Sterling by Music Man have announced an update to their Axis line to include these beauties:

    https://intl.sterlingbymusicman.com/...42765399588979

Probably should’ve seen it coming after Sweetwater released these exclusive Axis models

Very nice. If the Yucatan had a rosewood board, I would jump on it.

I wonder if at some point EBMM will release an axis with the original EVH specs. I’m not sure why they moved the switch. It never looks right to me where they have it now.

They did a run of 20th anniversary models in the original colors but kept the three main modifications from the original model: the belly cut, the switch location, and the ever-so-slightly wider neck. IMO those are all improvements. I agree that aesthetically the original switch position is better, but functionally I prefer the Axis location.

$900 for the Indonesian SA-126 is pretty steep.

    Thoughts so far:

I absolutely love the look of that Oxblood Wolfgang TOM. The Blue Standard TOM isn't bad either.

I wish they would've just used dot inlays on the SA-126 Standard, but they're not too bad. That Wine Red Standard with gold hardware is just drool worthy. I also like that they went with Rosewood as opposed to Indian Laurel or Pao Ferro. If they couldn't do ebony at that price point, rosewood is a good choice. Still a bit pricey but at least its sub-1k.

The speaker is interesting. I'm still new to the digital amp modeler world (using an HX stomp sometimes). Correct me if I'm wrong, but its basically a speaker designed to work well with that type of amp?
    I'm just here.

I’m not a fan of the baked maple neck they put on most of their guitars now, it’s hard to see the dot inlays. As many years as I have been playing guitar, you would think I really don’t need the reference point of the dot inlays, but I do.

You can basically just use your pedalboard in front of it. It's a power amp/cab in 1. You can throw a Boss Metalzone in front of it if you so desire...

I understand that. I've noticed that some brands choose a dark inlay and others use a lighter inlay on baked maple. It's one of those wood colors that's hard to find a good inlay for.

The best looking baked maple necks I've seen use some sort of two tone inlay.

That said, I do like the baked maple wolfgang's lol

This is the future of rock music IMO.

Modellers like the AXE-FX, Helix, or Quad Cortex with effects, AMPS and IR cabinet simulation going into flat response powered speakers just like high end PA's.

90% chance I'm selling all my amps this year.
