Default Top ten non VH albums (max. two albums per one artist)

Here we go, list your top ten albums, all genres, all eras, live albums, and bootlegs included, with two conditions - no Van Halen albums allowed
and a maximum of two albums from one artist.

I made a similar thread a few years back but now tweaked it a little, let's see if something changes for you. For me it is sadly almost the same list

1 Jimi Hendrix: Electric Ladyland (gotta respect Hendrix and the fact that he basically paved the way for Eddie. Listen to 'House Burning Down')

2 Deep Purple: In Rock (Quintessential hard rock album)

3 UFO: UFO2 One Hour Space Rock (Quintessential space rock album ) 'Star Storm' is 18 minutes of "strange guitar wizardry." Mick Bolton+delay+wah.

4 Santana: Caravanserai (Quintessential... ok LOL. People usually don't know that Santana used to play jazz rock. 'Waves Within' is so dreamy and beautiful).

5 Thin Lizzy: Black Rose (Thunder and Lightning is great and Gorham-Robertson duo is legendary, but when you say Thin Lizzy I think 'Waiting for an Alibi'

6 Deep Purple: Perfect Strangers (Just because of 'Son of Alerik')

7 Divlje Jagode: Vatra (The best 80's hard rock from behind the Iron Curtain. 'Ciganka' and 'Let na drugi svijet')

8 Nazareth: Live from London. Live from the Camden Palace (they were on fire there, Manny abused his Boss delay pedal with hold function on 'Razamanaz').

9 Santana: Milagro (A mix of funk, R&B, blues, rock, jazz, reggae, and more, modern Santana guitar sound. Most hate it, I love it, esp. 'We Don't Have to Wait').

10 Monster Magnet: Milking The Stars. A Re-Imagining Of Last Patrol ('60s/'70 feel space rock plus vintage guitars, amps and effects. 'End Of Time B-3')
"If you ever speak to me like that again, you better be wearing a cup" - EVH, 1996

"Stupid neighbors called the cops/Now the party's over/Angry housewife wants my name/Tell her it's 'Ben Dover"

Sammy Hagar made Van Halen even better. Deal with it.

Cheating a bit. These are the 10 most important albums to me over the years outside of Van Halen. I've listed them by year released.

The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Heart's Clube Band (1967)
    Boston: Boston (1976)
Beastie Boys: Licensed to Ill (1986)
Guns n Roses: Appetite for Destruction (1987)
    Beastie Boys: Paul's Boutique (1989)
    Motley Crue: Dr. Feelgood (1989)
    Skid Row: Skid Row (1989)
Warrant: Dirty Rotten Filty Stinking Rich (1989)
    Green Day: American Idiot (2004)
The Avett Brothers: I and Love and You (2009)
    Green Day: Saviors (2024)

This is pretty easy for Gen X hard rock dudes...we tend to hold sacred all those records we came of age with...but these aren't necessarily my faves of all time, they're the ones that shaped my experiences the most, due to my peers and surroundings....

I am a huge Green Day fan. But their best record is, by a long shot, taking out the seminal flashpoint of American Idiot....Revolution Radio. Easily.

I have the triumverate on LP, tape and CD. Listen to it now over the wire. A fucking hell of a run that fueled things during and after. Cheers to The Kinks!
