Kramer The 84 - Design Changes
I didn’t see anything about this in another thread.
Kramer released an HH version of the “84” (5150) guitar.
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
They also changed the single hum version slightly.
What is kind of lame (imo) is that they did the correct Ed-style oval pickup route on the HH version but not the single PU version. Why?!?

They seem like rip offs of the EVH 5150 HH Guitars, but I do like the oval pickup cavity on those.
I got a Radiant Red Kramer 84 as a gift for Christmas. It had the worst quality control I have ever seen on a $800 guitar. The Floyd retainer screws are rusted/oxidized, all 6 of them. Also the Floyd block is oxidized, the pickup was tilted towards the bridge of the guitar and can’t be adjusted as there is only one screw holding the pickup one each side. The frets were also a mess, I had to polish the grit (whatever you want to call it) off the frets. There was some much grit, that when you did string bends or vibrato, there was grinding against the grit buildup (this is a brand new guitar out of the box). I’ll probably return it, I hate to do it since it was a gift, but it’s got so many flaws.

Scotty, looks like the guitar was exposed to the elements and wasn't properly kept in a case. Sucks, but if you don't wanna mess with it I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of it.

Interesting....Kramer is owned by Gibson these days no?
I have a Ferrari Red 84 from the 2000s....rarely play it; the neck is like a baseball bat and very uncomfortable to me. These new ones look interesting but $1,000?It's 5150 time!

I can’t comprehend why anyone would buy these when you can build a great guitar for not that much more money with a Locke Custom Guitar body and neck and gather the right hardware, set it up how you want…this can all be done for around $1,200…

I've kept old guitars that are pretty messed up. Either the electronics are fried, the neck cracked, etc. I could easily spend some time and money getting them up to speed but I just throw them in a closet and forget about them. I'd probably do the same with Scotty's Kramer. I have an old Strat that I'd like to fix up but I already have two that I use. I took out my old Explorer from storage not too long ago that I had forgotten about. It's old and beat to shit but it still sounds great!

I've always been fascinated by pickups. One of my Strats has the original single coils but the other I've replaced with super humbuckers. That's the one I like to jam extreme metal like Cannibal Corpse and Obituary. I guess it all goes back to reading how EVH dealt with his pickups and how he totally customized them to his own specifications, like using wax and so forth.
Seen saif they found 4.7 trillion in cuts. That means a giant annual surplus going forward. Personally, I'll bet on a 1 trillion dollar deficit annually. Because these cuts are mostly fictional...
