If you compare the two, you notice they sound the same.
Ok. I agree with you. I checked some of them out on Spotify and they do sound the same. I cancelled my preorder for the CD set.

Kind of disappointing since I had high hopes for this release. They likely just ran the songs through some program and called it a remaster.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what is on Spotify. The streaming version of Skyscraper, for instance, has long used multiple masterings as its sources. The tracks that have been on DLR compilations are far louder than the others, almost jarringly so.

Spotify is probably the last tool that should be used to judge mastering...

I have the "Forever Young" version of EEAS and its a lot better than the original.

Well I certainly hope so. I know streaming is heavily compressed unless it's lossless. I will wait till someone gets the CD set and confirms it really does sound the same. If they say there is any improvement in sound I will go back and order it again.

Don't jump the gun with cancelling - those remasters may be visible to apparently play, but it's not the remasters that they play, I suspect that it's just a ploy from the label to get more streams in. See my post on the previous page for more intel.

Ok. I just ordered it again. If it does not sound any better than the regular CD's which I already have than I'll just return it.

That video and song is a slice of 80's cheese. Of course DLR would fit right in at the Blue Oyster Bar wearing that all leather outfit.

Amen. Especially if you aren’t a solo DLR fan 😂 Actually admittedly strange he sings my favorite ERA of VH, but if Ed isn’t playing next to him, I really don’t care for even one solo song.

You know what would have been perfect? Making a grown up Waldo the store proprietor when Dave orders his glazed donut to go. Waldo could have told him to sit down for a change. Sorry, Dave...

More Van Halen sounding with Vai. Loved the song when I first heard it. Definitely an upgrade over 80's cheese like Stand Up.
