Peart should be lower, Alex higher, as well as ringo. Stave smith above Alex? Naw.

Never been a perfect list. Alex is a Top 10 Rock Drummer for me.

Best thing these lists do, is get people to talk about/remember the greatest drummers.

I like their Top 20 but I would have replaced a few of those choices with my own personal faves.

    DAVE vs SAMMY

People need to let this go.....it is like comparing an ex wife to your current wife...you can say how things would have be different if she were still here but she left you, so you moved on with your life.....

Same with Van Halen...would they have liked to have Roth stay, yes...but he decided to leave so they moved on.......

and the rest is history….. well until 1996……..lol

Quite a few I’ve never heard of from bands I’ve never heard of, and of course Dave Grohl. No Fleetwood, no Kramer, no Henley, no Roger Taylor. I’m biased but I think Larry Mullen, jr. Should be on there. Maybe Anton Fig

I like Peart, I like AVH and I like Steve as well. But where is Bobby J? Or Eloy? Or Zonder? Clive Burr? That's why I agree with Like Lil' Intruder. IMHO, this top 20 is very good and accurate, whether it includes a new generation or not.

48th place isn't that bad. All in all, it's just a list. And the comment is pretty cool:

    48
    Alex Van Halen
    Band(s): Van Halen

Alex made me want to play rock 'n’ roll and was the first “rock star” drummer that I idolized when I was in elementary school. Hell, I dressed up as “Alex Van Halen” two years in a row for Halloween in grades 3 and 4! Alex has always been underrated and that’s always bothered me. He has a fantastic feel and is a unique drummer in the rock 'n’ roll world that should get more credit than he gets. Ask Jim Keltner… he’ll tell you! — Josh Freese (Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle)

TT: "Wow, you can play acoustic guitar?"
    EVH: "Sure. What's the difference? It's got six strings... It's a guitar!" - 31.12.1978
