Where are the bands?
I found this video pretty interesting. It's something I've noticed and discussed with people before, but it is worse than I thought.

The members of Poison have been asking themselves this question, especially since Bret Michaels likes touring with his solo band more than his original band.

it's ironic to me in that i've had a long held belief that a band has a longer shelf life than a singer, at least in rock. Think about how many bands are going about right now playing arena gigs with only a few members, and then think of singers that have the same power. Sammy obviously, but because he has the benefit of having been in Van Halen behind him; Billy Idol and...who else? I don't think Billy Squier is packing an arena. Most anybody else I can think of was a well known part of a popular band at some point. Look at it this way - who is going to fill an arena playing pretty much the exact same songs? Journey or Steve Perry? Maybe that's why so many musicians/singers don't retire the band and go solo when the band doesn't much resemble the band that made all the big records - because they know, that even if they are well known in their own right, the band name brings much more power than just their name alone.

Lots of great bands lost their original frontmen and still had success: Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Journey, Van Halen and Iron Maiden come to mind. And not just singers but other vital members of the band. Take for example, the Rolling Stones. When they fired Brian Jones there was concern they would flounder but they came back better than before. Mick Taylor was an outstanding replacement but Ron Wood turned out to be a godsend for the band. That's why they are still together and touring the world.
I don't like JD Vance, but he seems to be the most capable to be POTUS out of the four. Tim Walz reminds me of the nice Uncle you go visit who has been working for the State Government his entire...
