As Americans we laughed at the over the top absurdity of the opening ceremonies. But has anyone been watching Peacock coverage of the Olympics? I don't know if it is just Peacock or if it is the same on NBC proper, but Kelly Clarkson "cool, that is cool, that is so cool that is really cool"..It could have been a drinking game) at the opening ceremonies is not half as bad as the rest of the hosts.

Congratulations to Summer Mcintosh for winning the Gold in the 400-meter individual medley! She had a huge lead in her swim today! She also won a Silver Medal a few days ago!

Daisy, I've been checking out some of the coverage. Like SvD posted earlier, I like only certain sporting competitions but will watch anything if it's really interesting. But seeing all these youngsters does have a way of making me feel old!

Chris, they all really can be our kids, if not grandkids. This is the youth of today and God bless them! The only thing I excelled at was science and history. I also got an award for art one year. But that was years ago. Way before any of these athletes were even born. But good for them. They are living the dream!

Chris, that is awesome! Little things like that always have a way of making our lives more interesting. It will always hit home! I'm sure my mom has my childhood awards but even if she doesn't, I don't care. I still lived it!
