I had…a moment. No damn near for me. I got there.

That was the next best thing to seeing them back in the day.

That said - sorry Sam but your songs without Ed pale in comparison to your songs with Ed. Last 1/4 of show sucked all the life out if it for me.

But the first 3/4 - holy shit.

And what a fantastic version of Eagles Fly.

Disappointing that Gary wasn’t there.

One other observation - Satriani and Bonham can play. But that show just proved how fuckin good Ed and Al were. Damn.

It looks like they did the DTNA thing again in Top Of The World. They didn’t sing it though.

OK, so I think I’ve got videos up for pretty much everything at this show. There’s a couple songs that I still need to find decent versions of. But all of the Van Halen stuff is up minus Jump.

Was at the show last night too. It was great to hear Summer Nights and Judgement Day. The last time I was at Great Woods was during the last VH Tour in 2015. The crowd was great and even changed Eddie and I couldn’t help but think he was looking down.

Wow. I've been to numerous VH shows over the years and I honesty didn't have high expectations for the Mansfield show. I purposely didn't watch any clips from earlier shows on this tour as I wanted to experience it for myself and not judge cellphone quality audio / video.

Sammy and crew absolutely crushed it. The power and energy they brought was incredible, especially for guys this age. Joe certainly did his homework and was dialed in, never missing an opportunity to add the little Eddie flourishes that we all know and love. He also clearly studied and watched LWAN, replicating a lot of Eddie's work on One Way to Rock and 55. Mike, Jason and Sammy were locked in and fed off the crowd's energy.

For me, the highlights were the performances on 5150, BOBW, Runaround and Eagles Fly. To hear the 5150 songs with the acoustic drums and heavy guitar tone was simply incredible. I had been to Sammy's show here a few years back and they were upgrading everyone from the lawn to actual seats, as there wasn't a large crowd. Last night, almost the entire lawn was packed and the energy was electric throughout the whole show.

I left exhausted and with a huge smile on my face. Several times throughout the show I realized this was probably the last time I'll see these guys perform these songs and it made me realize how much to cherish the moment.

Well, I had mixed feelings. Mostly positive.

A++++ for the VH content including the two songs Sam frequently did with VH.

But just being honest - the Sammy solo tunes late in the show kinda sucked my energy down. They just don’t hold up to the songs he wrote with Ed.

My thoughts going in were that this is probably the last time I’ll see the VH songs done this well. I’d have preferred more of them. I’ve seen Sammy solo and likely will again. Didn’t need that in this show.

Ben - sorry I missed you. Hope things are good in your world.
