New Developments!

Just an update on this. We may not be leaving. Which would be nice for me because I don’t want to move the site from the host I’ve been with for over over 20 years. They might be able to move us to their new platform, but allow us to use some of the older server software that we need to run the site.

I've really enjoyed coming back these past months and hope this forum will be here for a long time, no matter which host you end up using.

I still post at the Army too...but I am really enjoying the discussion here, I've enjoyed talking with so many thoughtful (and funny) posters here...and I've really enjoyed talking music, family and other cool things (like famous movie locations) with you personally, Brett. (It's time I donate...I'll get on that. I'm doing the guys' cottage weekend tomorrow morning, so I'll either donate before I leave or right when I get back.)

I’ve got no beef with anyone at the Army. Any animosity that existed is long gone to me. Most of it was silly anyway. And anyone I’ve ever met from there over the years has always been cool to me.

I don't think anyone over there has a beef with you either, my friend. As far as I'm concerned, it's one big Van Halen community.

The fact that we're still talking about this band 50 years after they formed...

The fact that I've met some really good friends through this community over the years...

Yeah, I'm excited for the guys' cottage weekend. I've burned the five parts of Alan's 1984 DOCUMENTARY to a Blu-Ray...so I'm psyched to watch that with the guys. (It's really great film.) I'm also bringing Donington '84 because none of the guys have seen that yet. I had spinal surgery last year, so I still have to take painkillers for the back...and, thus, I literally never drink anymore. That is going to be weird.

So we are not leaving. Our host was able to find a solution for us to stay on our old software and that’s that. And I am happy because moving the site would’ve been a big gigantic pain in the ass. Lol.
