    I want to get back into some gym and lift some weights and stuff. Right now, I do some long walk 03 times every week, some exercises at home and, of course, I play six days a week on my electronic drum kit for around an hour to two hours. Then I do a few stretches to relax + 06 to 08 hours of sleep. My measurements are 1.85 meters and 82 kilos.

    I've done pretty much every routing you can imagine. was gonna compete at a couple of bodybuilding shows but I got sick both times I was getting ready. you want to get big? ask me.

    Rock on, dude. I did the CrossFit thing and had phenomenal trainers with tons of experience. They sold the gym and the quality went downhill. That’s one program where you definitely need experienced trainers who know what they’re doing.

    crossfit is 100% different from what I do, it's interesting and has some cool movements but there are just some things that I don't agree with. doing olympic lifts is complicated enough but doing them for speed I think is dangerous. just my opinion. as with most things concerning training, you don't throw the baby out wit the bath water, there's a lot of things a regular gym goer can gain from looking at crossfit type traning.

    Agree with all of this.

    My trainers competed here and abroad for years and were excellent at keeping an eye on their students to avoid injury. Right down to how you looked picking up the bar. If they thought you were done for the day, you were done.

    Two herniated cervical discs(20 plus years) and two bad shoulders(could be disc related) has put an end to my upper body weight lifting. I used to run 1/2 marathons, but haven't done one in ten years. Now I'm strictly cardio at the gym. I make Treadmills and Stairmasters my bitches - usually seven days a week, Also have a Specialized bike I ride on weekends if it's not too hot/humid.

    Weight fluctuates between 175 and 185. Trying to narrow that down to 170 to 175. Like what was mentioned in another post, I like good tasting food that's probably bad for you, and beer. Cardio is my way of keeping the extra pounds at bay. It ain't easy.

    I recommend walking for those that can't or don't want to join a gym. Download a pedometer app or get a cheap fitness watch and walk.

    Just walk.
    Utilize. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

    Taking off weight makes such a difference on how you move around. Like going from 165 to 160 made a pretty big difference on the tennis court.

    I do some things that are out of the box in terms of training. I use a system called "DC Training", it's basically using short rest periods to allow you to lift more weight in a shorter amount of time. I do 1 set per body part per workout except for back, where I do 2-3 movements one for width and one for thickness) and quads. so I'm in and out of the gym really fast. I use a standard push pull set up (one day for chest, shoulders and tri's, one day for back and bi's and one workout for legs). I'm 51 and can still train pretty hard. it's pretty much ideal for natural athletes. lets you hammer the bodypart and move on. my goal is to get in and get out as fast as possible.

    That’s funny, I remember when DC first hit back around 20 years ago. Apparently it’s still around! Very interesting. I use Rest-Pause occasionally.

    yeah, I was on that initial train too. I used to communicate with Dante Trudell a lot, he helped me with a couple of weak bodyparts and sent me some supplements. it's a great technique.
