    Ok been banged up. Got the shoulder roughly healed up. Started back to the shit in January.

    Any you fuckers lift or work out? I know EJC does and JMJ did.

    Let's do this. Get it on. What do you guys take as far a pre and post? I'm 6'5 and was at one point 240. Now I'm 6'5 and 220. Been hittin hard so far. Any tips you fuckers know. Out.

    Used to hit the gym once or twice a week but since COVID I do it all at home. Some of those 7 minute apps actually have pretty intense work outs. Not doing the trip to the gym is a big time saver.

    Slightly tore my meniscus in my right knee running a couple months ago, and basically my doctor said "you are 53 years old with arthritis, time to put the running away and start walking."

    So, I just talk long walks in the rain with my dogs and lift now, and I don't even max out at all anymore, just high reps with medium weight. Getting old sucks, but I am going to fight it every step of the way.

    I can't do shit anymore. Back blows with 3 lumbar bulges. Lots more but I'm stopping here. I used to run lots and loved to sweat. I did hills like Walter Payton in 90 degrees .

    Took me years to get over my fucked up back, and it still isn't perfect, I have to be careful on how I do things, even putting on my socks.

    Once you seriously hurt your back, I don't think it is ever truly the same again. I ballooned up to 313 after my back injury, I was using a cane for about a year, trust me, when you are walking with a cane and doped out on painkillers, you ain't working out, and you take comfort in food. It's a bad combo.

    I have been going to a gym at least three times a week ( even when I really didn't want to) for probably 20 years. At the age of 58 and an avid golfer I no longer lift heavy weights. Mostly resistance training with cable machines. I am 5' 9" and fluctuate between 185 lbs. and 195 lbs. The extra 10 seems to come on in the winter months when I'm not out golfing as much.

    Full disclosure I have a terrible diet and love me a good cold beer or 12. I think the regular gym visits have allowed me to continue down the buffet line and not loose the battle of the bulge.

    Key point is to never eat between meals.

    I injured my back about 5 years ago, herniated disk/pinched nerve, and got a pretty bad right Inguinal hernia back in Oct. these 2 injuries have made me make adjustments to my routine. Before I injured my back, and Covid, I was in the gym 6 days a week. I’ve always been in pretty good shape, but after the back injury I’ve had to make some adjustments.

    I’m in my mid fifties now, and about 185lbs, and I still exercise 6 days a week. I walk every morning for 30 minutes, and then lift light weights for 30 minutes at home after I walk. I’ll do biceps and triceps day one, legs and shoulders day two, chest and back day three, then repeat days 1 - 3 the second half of the week. I don’t lift more than 25 lbs dumbbells so I don’t fuck up my back. I do my exercises before I eat breakfast every morning.

    For a few years, I didn't have a very active lifestyle, I made changes around this time last year, basically becoming a triathlete. I don't speed any time in the weight room but I consistently swim for an hour three times a week, cycle 50~ miles, and run between 5-10 (this is what I'm increasing training on most right now).
    I definitely need to start consistently hit the weight room. I am VERY conditioned now, just not a ton of muscle mass since I've been almost exclusively focusing on cardio training.
