    Pretty Tied Up
    So Fine
    Civil War
    The Garden
    Coma

    Double Talkin Jive

You lost me at “Right Next Door To Hell” being boring/garbage.

That song is fuckin’ killer and had us high fiving in the store as we put it out.

Right Next Door to Hell, Perfect Crime, Don't Damn Me and You Could Be Mine are "garbage/boring?" Huh, I disagree with that. Especially YCBM.

To me, So Fine is garbage/boring. Agree with all your other "killer" tracks though.

Slash is great on Estranged--the 2nd half of that song is so much better than the first half.

I think "Don't Damn Me" is my fave tune on the entire album(s)

I come from the classic Stones, Zep, VH, Elton, Aerosmith era… a lot of this GNR is total garbage songwriting through and through to me… it’s unlistenable.

Not that anyone cares, but I never got into GnR. Mostly because of Axl's "voice".
Also, completely overplayed on terrestrial and satellite radio. I understand the hoopla for appetite, and I always liked the song from T2. But the rest of it is pretty boring to me, except like Civil War. ~E

Ha! I love it that we use WVH tedium to pivot to more interesting subjects!

Lots of love for Skid Row and let me join in. My first concert ever in 7th grade! They opened for Aerosmith. My friends and I got tickets to see them specifically. STG is a killer album.

UYI albums are a major let down for me, even today. But, I will contend that Civil War is top shelf and one of the greatest songs they ever put out. I love that tune.

I like G N' R a lot and I think their debut LP is a masterpiece...but I have never understood why they are treated by some as the greatest rock and roll band in history. They are a fine band, with some great songs...and they have an entertaining (and insane) history.

But I have never felt that they are as vital, unique, historic, important or interesting as many other classic bands, like:
. The Rolling Stones (especially at their 1968-1973 peak)
    . Led Zeppelin
    . The Beatles
    . Lynyrd Skynyrd
    . The Who

...or this little rock 'n' roll combo from Pasadena with a killer guitarist and super-charismatic frontman...

But I have nothing against them.

If I were to try enjoying some of Skid Row's music now, which album would you guys suggest I start with?

Their first album is a little more pop. Their second album is much harder, I would go with Slave To The Grind.

    Was that their biggest album?

I definitely prefer heavier...never been as big into pop metal.

I feel like when it comes to these kinds of bands, Brett, your tastes are similar to mine. You & I both admit that DR. FEELGOOD has some very catchy songs...but I think we'll both always like TOO FAST FOR LOVE more (it really is almost a punk rock album).

    Eh? What’s self-indulgent about PD?

    Intro - verse - chorus - verse - chorus - bridge - solo - chorus. Pretty standard.

They were both big but Slave To The Grind went number one. It’s definitely heavier too.

Yeah, I think we pretty much do have similar taste when it comes to the hair metal stuff. For better or worse. Lol.

Appetite is a classic. Every song is great. Production is great, great riffs, solos are on point and very memorable, the grooves are perfect, and the lyrics capture the zeitgeist of the era.

But it's only one record. That's why they can't be put in the same league as VH, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, etc.
