Yeah, I've seen U2 about 30 times, every US tour since '81 up 'til 2018. Did not catch the Las Vegas Sphere stand, no way was I going to pay thousands of dollars for a ticket, plus I had an injured achilles and was in a boot and walking and standing or climbing those steep steps on the Sphere was not an option.

That J Geils show was excellent. I only saw them on the Love Stinks tour and this one (Freeze Frame tour). They played a super long set (the setlist fm site is missing about 10 songs from the set this show) and did a 3rd encore after the lights came up and people were leaving.

Wow - I always felt those setlists from that tour were lacking - would love to see an accurate one

That was the very first live rock concert I attended. It was in Charlotte N.C. at the old coliseum. Still remember the big inflatable juke box lol.

I went to see a Dio show at the same place a few years later and this west coast band I had never heard of called Dokken opened. I was hooked after the very first chords of Without Warning. I went to the record store the next day and purchased Tooth and Nail.

You remember more than I do. I remember the film countdown to “4” for Foreigner and Bryan Adams saying a naughty word during “Take Me Back”

He's a joke now, but Vince Neil opening for VH in 93 was pretty badass, especially with Steve Stevens. It was also my first concert so it's just a great memory overall.

First bands that came to mind were:

Warrant when I saw them opening for Poison on the Flesh n Blood tour. Warrant was so much better.

Metallica - while not truly an opener played before Aerosmith when I saw them in 88, maybe. I didn't like them, but they felt like the real headliner.

Crobot...they opened for Jackyl about 10 years ago now near Harrisburg. They were fucking tight, funky, and just plain awesome. They were a local band that have had some minor success since. They were great.
