It is unusually personal. Between Edward, then Dave's own health shite, and then Al's back it has been rough getting old and will cause even a lead singer to reflect. Hard to do while dealing with your own shite, processing others shite, and fighting the Bertinelli clan attempt to use these struggles as a land grab opportunity in the most disgusting ways Its been a lot, retirement not all its cracked up to be.

While Dave doesn't always play well with others, others don't offer up much of a welcoming playground. Those fucking Van Halens and Bertinellis are some dysfunctional fucks. I think he should call Vai and put together a cool project that encompasses his Van Halen days and his solo career.

Seems like both Al and Dave are grappling with their mortality. The lyrics to this song are oddly personal and I definitely appreciate the blues presentation (which is where Dave's voice seems to reside at the best). Hopefully we get more songs like this dropping.
