I own the Whitesnake DVD from this gig! Pretty cool - their best line up, IMHO.

Back to the mid/late 1980s, Anvil was the s**t. I stopped following their career after the release of Pound for Pound (5th effort).

Whitesnake has an official release of their part of this concert. I bought it because of John Sykes. It's not easy to get footage of Whitesnake with him, since he was fired after he recorded the 1987 album.

Poor Anvil! Playing to the biggest crowd they had ever seen only to still fail miserably. While their peers Metallica went on to superstardom, Anvil instead chose a path of obscurity and poverty. Even Spinal Tap was more popular than they ever were!

    The documentary was cool.

BB, I agree. It was their shining glory. As for this concert all the bands kicked ass, even Anvil. But my faves were the Scorps and Whitesnake. I've had boots from their full preformances for years and as YR mentioned, it was awesome seeing John Sykes rip it up in his prime!

Curious to know what this venues capacity is because I Saw Anvil open for ACDC at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA in 2009, which holds 65K. It was one of 3 shows they opened. I believe the other 2 were Meadowlands and the stadium in Philadelphia (the name escapes me at the moment)

AVB, well this concert was at Seibu Stadium but from the footage it's not completely full. Maybe it was too hot that day or too hard rock for it to sell out, who knows? Too bad Cheap Trick wasn't there, they're considered gods in Japan!
