I think there was a segment in Ed's solo maybe during Mean Street where Michael just shakes his head and comments "Mother fucker... sigh". It actually cracked me up because I had said that so many times watching that LWAN video and said the same thing. I knew he'd get it. lol It was good to laugh that day. I had lost my dad a month earlier, so it was just a big shitfuck year.
Sorry about your Dad, man. That was a fucked year for sure.

I'm right there with you - I was texting with Michael and watched this live with my wife. I didn't have anybody else to "mourn" with. It was therapeutic that night.

2020 was the worst fucking year ever. Sounds like so many of us lost a parent that year to boot.

Yep. If it was going to happen in 2020, I'm thankful my Dad passed before all of the shut- downs. I'd be in prison if a hospital/ nursing home told me that I couldn't see my Dad at the end.
    Just go for it!

We lost two music icons in 2020: Edward Van Halen and Neil Peart. Not to mention all the innocent victims of covid. I also lost a couple of good friends from that disease. Fuck 2020.

My wife’s uncle passed in February of that year. His health was horrible but we jokingly thought he passed then because he didn’t want to deal with Covid.

My dad passed away two days before all the mask shit came down. I canít imagine him living through that, he wouldíve gone crazy. My dad never liked to stay home. He was one of those people that went and did shit all day. He left to eat breakfast early and read the sports page, and then went shopping and bought shit. Lol. Even when he got sick at the end of his life, I canít imagine he would have tolerated sitting at home.

So we do all laugh that he was spared that because he wouldíve been impossible to deal with in that scenario. Trapped in the house and not being able to do his routines. God help us all.

The other joke, of course is we blame my dad for starting Covid since he literally died a couple days before the shit hit the fan.

As a Los Angeles sports fan, losing Kobe Bryant was up there as well. It was a horrible year. And that day really sucks because itís Edís birthday. So you have Kobeís death and Edís birthday on the same day now.

And England finally realised its potential by making the final of the European Championships 2020, instead of going out in a blaze of glory in the quarters/semis as per usual due to horrendous bad luck.

Took the lead against Italy and dominated the first half only to employ ridiculous tactics in the second half that helped Italy to equalise, went to penalties and even took the lead….only to blow another shootout. Because that’s what we do.

Agreed... people are too damn lazy to embrace their own damn emotions so they live vicariously through other attention whores...

I like watching non-guitarists react to the LWAN guitar solo. They're all like, I've never heard anything like this before.
