Maybe I will, maybe I won’t. I don’t think it means anything either way.

"At 6:00 pm. Ritter was initially treated by emergency room physicians for an assumed heart attack; however, his condition quickly worsened. [18] Ritter was then diagnosed with aortic dissection and taken into surgery, but was pronounced dead at 10:48 p.m., at the age of 54."

His family ended up suing for the mis-diagnosis:

"In 2008, Ritter's widow Amy Yasbeck, on behalf of herself and Ritter's children, filed lawsuits against doctors involved in Ritter's treatment and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center. A number of those lawsuits were settled out of court, for a total of $14 million, including a settlement for $9.4 million with Providence St. Joseph.[22] A $67 million wrongful-death lawsuit against two of the physicians, radiologist Matthew Lotysch and cardiologist Joseph Lee, went to trial in 2008.[22] Yasbeck accused Lee, who treated Ritter on the day of his death, of misdiagnosing his condition as a heart attack and Lotysch, who had given him a full-body scan two years earlier, of failing at that time to detect an enlargement of Ritter's aorta.[23] In 2008, at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the jury concluded that the doctors who treated Ritter the day he died were not negligent and thus were not responsible for his death."
Aortic dissection was the thing that almost killed the Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner onstage near the end of a show in 2021. This condition also caused the death of Cramps frontman Lux Interior.

Not to be rude, but I think it’s pretty ridiculous that you guys think I’m not vulnerable because I don’t cry. Lol. And I have cried before. I’m just telling you I didn’t cry when my father died. I didn’t cry at the funeral and I haven’t cried in the four years since he’s been gone. That doesn’t mean I’m not vulnerable or emotional. I just don’t carry it that way.

    We’re all very different people.

It has absolutely nothing to do with some stupid idea that I’m a tough guy or something. I’m not at all. I just don’t cry about stuff like that. I just channel my grief differently. I’ve grieved a lot for the death of loved ones, and I still do. I just don’t do it by bawling.

I'm not giving you any grief, dude.

There was a tendency in society of the past, though and even today, that a man shows no emotion, etc. Like that is an ideal man because that's what men "do." It's seen as "weak". Macho bullshit. You've said very eloquently, that's not the case with you.

    I wasn't singling you out.

I think a lotta guys aren't in touch with their emotions, almost uniformly because their fathers weren't. Not you, I think we firmly established that at Alex's high school gym talk when we both wept openly at Alex's frailty.

I cried at the Alex thing? Wow. I don’t remember that. Maybe I was sad at the way he looked. The only time it really got to me was when he talked about Ed passing I think near the end. I might have shed a tear about that because of his description. And clearly crying emotions for me aren’t attached to people I really love. Because those I do, I haven’t cried about. But shedding a tear about Ed was probably a little easier. Can’t really tell you. But I definitely didn’t cry about the way he looked. I was just more shocked than anything.

I was being tongue-in-cheek, though yes, I do think we both choked up a bit when Alex got choked up a bit about Ed. That kinda stuff is contagious sometimes.

I didn't cry when my parents passed, or when Ed passed. Now, losing children, that's a whole different animal.

I won’t lie. I cried when I saw the news of Ed’s passing. 2020-2021 was a meat grinder for me personally. Lost my job, my mom, many, many friends from COVID, Ed, then my Grandfather in 2021 from COVID.
