Called it - marketing starts for this thing today. Here's the page on EVH Gear's website and the promo video they've released. Note that they refer to it as the SA-126 Special a few times, implying there could be a USA/MIJ version with some upgrades. This makes me assume nickel frets as opposed to stainless.

Press release revealed the price. $1799 for plain tops, $1899 for quilt tops.

    Yep, you called it.

I wonder how well these will sell? I like that it’s a tribute to Eddie (E-Hole, 126), but the guitar just isn’t appealing visually at all. Just looks kind of odd. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see myself ever grabbing one of these SA126 guitars.

I need another guitar like I need a hole in the head, but I definitely would like to try it out. I used to have an Epiphone Wildkat semi-hollow, but I eventually sold it as I didn't play it as much as I thought I would. It just didn't feel comfortable enough, but I liked the tone of a semi or hollow body. Maybe this would be more comfortable. Looks-wise, I like the purple the best, but I think it would look better with chrome pick-up covers. Anyhow, happy birthday, Ed!

Thatís a lot of money for that guitar. I donít know that I could ever justify that. I have an Epiphone Casino (like John Lennon played) that I paid 500 bucks for, and it sounds amazing. I just could never see myself needing another semi-hollow guitar. Plus Iím not really a big fan of how it looks.

I do like though that it has Edís birthday.

I will certainly try one out, however it's going to have to be quite the instrument to standup to my Wolfs or Loudos.

Never played any type of hollow body electric before, would like to just try one out for fun.

The look has grown on me over time, I do think it’s kinda cool that it doesn’t really look like anything else out there. Definitely interested in trying one out whenever one of the local NJ stores gets one in. I do like semi-hollow guitars (I have an Dangelico that’s a great guitar) but definitely doesn’t sound too great when playing the heavier stuff. Looks like this one could be able to be more versatile

That was one of the things that drive me to my particular MIJ Wolf...that it had EVH's birthday in the serial #

I've been wanting to scratch my Marty McFly / Johnny B. Goode itch with a semi-hollow for years. I ultimately think I'll wait it out and end up with a Gibson/Epiphone. But the playability of this does seem really appealing.

My struggle with the price point is that it's within striking distance of a lot of other wish list guitars for me on the used market. Those are USA made or have other appointments I prefer. And the new Epiphone Dave Grohl guitar is rumored to be priced at $1299 with Gibson USA pickups in it. That's a heckuva deal.

Just wait for the Casino Red version of the SA 126. I'm sure it'd be easier to play the part that the kids are going to love on an SA than an Epi.

Looks interesting but solid black would be my choice of color. Happy jamming to those that pick one up!

    Great call Jedi.

Am curious enough to try one in hand and through a Vox ac30.

The 5 ply binding and case are nice touches.

I wonder what a US/MIJ upgraded model may have to command a higher price? My guess would be a gloss white/or gloss black with stainless frets, pearl tuning pegs.. likely a year away.

I'd probably pay a Wolfgang Special price for it.

No way I'm paying USA price for it. More bang for the buck in another guitar.

That said, they probably do sound really good. There just needs to be a tier'd cost to different models.

Pretty cool looking...I love the green; my favorite color. I have no experience with semi-hollow and do not like big fat acoustics so not sure how it would play for me. In addition I believe the price may be a bit high.....
