Went and watched the one that came through Oregon a few years back. Was definitely worth experiencing. So eerie!

Yeah this has been getting lots of pub around here for about 2 years. Direct path will be about 90 minutes from me. Unfortunately for everybody who may be coming to this part of the country, there probably about a 70% chance it will be cloudy that day

We are supposed to be 100% obscuration but with a history of 60% cloud cover

But because this whole area is a known tourist area we are seeing everything booked up. But early April we are a fishing community. Folks are coming here to get the huge walleye. They want the things you hang up on wall and don't mind fishing wearing carharts and ski masks. Casual sport fisherman wait until May. A lot of the bars are not yet open many hotels not yet open, some restaurants not yet open, the ferry isn't running. And the weather can range from 65 degrees and sunny to 25 degrees and snowing. In the same day. So I think that we may have some disappointed people coming here

One March on Erie my 20ft boat looked like the crab boats in the Berring Sea iced over. I can't take that anymore but my sons love it and 10 lb Walleye all over the place in shallow water

Huge hogs pulled out of the basin. Every year I try to get my RV park open the 3rd weekend of March for those hearty souls who come down from the Dakota's and Minnesota and the UP and only care that the lake is clear of ice. But the big thing over the last decade has been the wind. Not just windy which is to be expected of the spring, but gale force winds. The people who travel from up north usually book a week to make the travel time worth it, but expect a couple of days that they can't fish, but lately it's only been a couple of days that they CAN fish.

These eclipse peepers have no idea what they are in for. I hope we get good weather for them, this is a rare event

See What the Solar Eclipse Will Look Like across Most of the U.S.

Even if you’re not in the path of totality, the solar eclipse on April 8 will offer a show to nearly everyone across North and Central America

I saw the last one in 2017 and it was quite spectacular but my girlfriend really wants to see this - which means we'll have to travel from NM to the heart of Texas, specifically Kerrville where the magic happens. It's only a month away so we'll shall see...

Since Cleveland is about 10 miles from optimal path, this has been a daily news story for past month. Like counting down Y2K. I guess shitload of people are going to be here. People are renting out rooms in their home and all that.

Going to be some sad people when its raining on that day.

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will be visible across North America.

Our total eclipse 2024 guide tells you everything you need to know about the phenomenon from where to see it it to why it's so special. If you can't catch the eclipse in person you can watch the total solar eclipse live on Space.com.

During a total eclipse, the moon appears almost exactly the same size as the sun and blocks the entire disk for a few minutes known as totality.

The 115-mile-wide (185 kilometers) path of totality will cross three states in Mexico, 15 U.S. states and four states in southeast Canada.
