Weren’t they going to remove that song for that other winner That’s Why I Love You? I’m pretty sure it was going to be left off the album until a last minute decision. So even the band wasn’t sure it should be out there. Lol.
Why couldn't they just have put That's Why I Love You on the album without removing anything. There was a promo CD-R with That's Why I Love You on the album along with Josephina which is how the song leaked in the first place. Sounds like Ed just decided to cut the track for whatever reason before they started pressing them. Anyone have a pic of that rare studio issued CD-R? which is basically the complete album.

I did read that they almost omitted Josephina. I really do love that song. As much as I like the album version, I really do like the live performance that includes just Gary and Ed. It's really a beautiful tribute.

I do love your famous quote on VH III, but, I believe the album could have been a success with a healthier Ed and Bruce Fairbairn producing.
The biggest issue with VH III was the production. Mike Post was a horrible fit. Ed and Gary doing Joesphina acoustic was beautiful or their More Than Words moment.

TWILY slightly better than Josephina. It's better written, the melody fits with the chords better.

Could argue that it would be the best song on VHIII, and it still isn't that good. It's an EVH solo album with Gary Cherone on vocals.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Being the best song on VHIII is right up there with being the coolest gut at a Village People concert ...

It's an EVH solo record with song structures unlike anything Ed ever did. The parts to connect well with one another. It's not only Gary's fault.

I don't think any of us has ever given anyone more blame to Gary than we have to King Edward.

I would argue that the gay dudes at the Stonewall Inn had guts, and I bet all of them weren't fit. Hell, I think every gay person who lives their truth in this homophobic world has guts. But, back to VH III.
