Default 1980 Namm show replica Black and yellow stripped

I wanted to do a black and yellow guitar like I used to see in the Musicians friend catalog. I think it was 79 or 80 when they started advertising the VH11 style Charvels. The brass hardware and DiMarzio pickups and thin necks really appealed to me as a kid. I went with an alder SD body from KnE. Locke was closed for remodeling and I went with a 22 fret Musikraft neck with lumiglow side dots and jumbo frets. This thing plays incredible and I love the 78 head shape. I can't say enough good about the Hipshot locking tuners. They look like Schallers and are reasonable and very well made and hold tune well. The Charvel style tremolo works so good and I can keep it in tune and dive pretty low. The Super Distortion is wired with a push pull CTS pot for series parallel wiring. It sound's just like women in love when I pull up on the pot. This guitar plays and sounds like a custom shop instrument and I am so proud of the way it turned out.

Man, these are both great looking guitars!
What I like best is that you did them your way, out of total respect.
Perfect tributes to the originals, IMHO.
I have a tendency to see exact cloning as unethical.

I actually tried out one of those original Charvel Black and Yellows in early '80s.
It had been upgraded with the Floyd, which were non-FT then, and it was out of tune,
and that wrench nut thing seemed like a complete PITA, and it was quite pricey for me.
    Had to pass on it.
After that, I found out how pissed Edward was about it, and I was very glad that I did pass.
