I don’t agree there. They’re both really good. I think the Dreams solo is just more melodic and interesting.

The live solo version of Summer Nights is way better than the studio.

Feel free to start a thread with the best EVH guitar solos from the Van Hagar era and set up easier matchups for Summer Nights hehe.

The SN solo is a bit "jazzy" and "noisy" - is this solo memorable and singable for you? The rhythm guitar part under the solo is interesting though, it kind of adds heaviness to the track. Again - grat solo, but not as good as the one in Dreams.

As for Dreams solo (the main one), this one is melodic yet there are some cool and weird moments like the part when tap harmonics come in - can't find the words but these "warped" pitch-bent harmonics go riiiight there.
