If he annoyed me I wouldn’t be a fan.

And I don’t like Sammy Hagar, but when I critique him I stay within the realm of reality.

No, but unfortunately, that's human behavior and the internet. See, I'm of the opinion, if one puts themselves out there and says, "Look at me, everybody. I want attention" (artists do want attention), then that's fair game to make a criticism.

We have NO problem talking shit about some slut on Tik Tok who's basically doing the same thing. Seeking attention. When it's an "artist" they're not fair game? As long as I'm good to people I come in contact with on a daily basis...strangers, co workers...being respectful and uplifting. I don't give a shit it about some multi millionaire I'm never gonna meet, be in the vicinity of, or listen to.

We have no problem shitting on WVH but my gosh...rainbow flags and unicorns gush out of Dave's ass over everything he does.

    See? I talked shit.

    I miss Ed.

Dave is still doing tunes in their original key, which is more than a lot of his peers can say.

I give him props for that.

Once you change the key on some of that stuff, it just doesn't work.

David's wardrobe image is what cost him the approval of the regular Joe Blow rock fan's.

Look back at all those rock magazines David was plastered all over with photos from photo sessions as though he was a pin up sex symbol. Circus. Creem. Hit Parader. Even the Woman And Children First poster. David tied up. Ffs.

THAT is the reason many rock fan's think David is a homo.

The image & photographic overexposure killed his career.

Who was the intended demographic of those kissy faced photo session photos.

Sure as fuck wasn't the regular Joe Blow rock fan's.

Look at the Skyscraper 1988 tour program photography.

The Little Ain't Enough 1991 promotion photography.

DLR's music & live concert show's were sensational. But the pop culture image projected at the time between 1986 to 1991 showed David as a solo artist in a way that didn't resonate with the regular Joe Blow rock music fans. Especially when new bands like Metallica & Gums and Roses were hot on the scene.

As cool as David is & will always be his projection of photo session photography was a HUGE mistake insofar as promotion & image projection in pop culture back then.

No idea who was in charge of the photo image department but if they would have been photographed wearing worn ragged ripped jeans & t shirts for the rock magazines instead of the fruity toot sparkling show clothes which the whole 1986 & 1988 band wore including Steve Vai the music is the main thing of course but if the preconceived image overpowers the integrity & substance of the musical art then the whole thing becomes tarnished due to the projected image thus ultimately becoming less enticing to the average joe blow rock fan who will be more inclined to rock out to Metalica or Gums and Rose's & later on Nirvana & pearl jams..

    Here today gone later today..

David Lee is very fortunate to have fan's like myself & thousands of others who dig his style throughout the years.

But he ain't picking up any new blood along the way.

The new young rock fan's demographic never saw VH live in concert in 1981 & 1982 & 1984 like myself so they can't possibly understand what it is that makes David Lee so awesome if all they see & hear is the new YouTube video clips & whatnot..The impact is oblivious.

DLR has not capatlixed his phenomenal rock icon status. He just does his thing with you tune stuff and that's that.

    Why. I don't know.

Def Leppard - & Mostly Crue tour stadium s full of new rock fan's but David Lee Roth was miles above & beyond them all insofar as being a badass rock star type of live performer . With Van Halen -& also on his own. D,LR should ideally be like Ozzy able to your arenas worldwide but he ends up opening up for KISS who are in my opinion far beneath him in rock status. Why the hell did he agree to open up for Kiss is beyond me..I know the Las Vegas engagement probably wanted to keep the band & momentum going at the time but ultimately fuck what mistake he can't go out like that no way he deserves better. Opening up for a half ass lip syncing joke show..fuck

Dave sounded good on Jump and Panama. I don’t think Dave has sounded that good in a while. Looks like Steve is playing a Wolfgang guitar in those clips.

Look at David's Crazy From The Heat book photo section....

There's a live concert photo from the 1980 tour David is wearing the yellow tiger stripe stage clothes with his big bright pooofy blond hair holding the microphone close to his mouth....

    Read the photo caption...

    The photo caption says....

    " Yes, I have a whistle".....

Well, What exactly do you think that particular photo caption actually means?.

    Hmmmm.....

What do you do with a whistle?....

    You blow into the whistle....

    Keyword.....being....Blow...

It's David's book & his photo caption so you know he's pretty much alluded something without actually coming out & saying what the photo caption actually truly means.

    You Dig.

Dave's wardrobe didn't cost him fans. Putting out a bunch of mediocre songs cost him fans. Every DLR solo album was a little worse than the one that came before it.

Without EVH, Dave never had the guy who could consistently write music for hit songs.

    Agree.

I don't think there was another guitarist that could have given Dave the songs he needed.

Vai is great, but he's not a riff master. Sorry RF.

Dave was one and done in that department.

Look at VHIII. All Ed. All garbage. Dave solo and in charge. All garbage with a few notable exceptions.

I mean shit, the dude is almost 70. Is he perfect? Fuck no. Wasn’t 25 years ago. But for his age he still does great.

Think about it this way, he could be Jon Bon Jovi.

On a serious note LD, the problem with Dave is that he actually thinks he's a singer and can sing still. He doesn't understand that that shit sailed decades ago.

That's why he changes it up and makes questionable choices. He doesn't seem to accept that his whole legend if you will, was his stage presence back in the day not his voice. Not after 81 anyway imo....
