Dude, nobody even knew Montrose on the east coast.

Also, ever hear of Grand Funk Railroad from Flint, Michigan?

Yeah, they sold out SHEA STADIUM in 1971

Interesting that your filthy little mouth didn't make it through to the vote. That's a great record.

Montrose is one of my all time favourite albums and in my opinion wipes the floor with everything else here.

We get it. Montrose was regional. A very influential regional band whether Brook or Brett heard of them or not. Again, you have to be of a certain age.

Chris, I'm from Chicago and my older brother bought Monstrose's debut album when it was first released. It sounded like fresh hard rock and Sammy's vocals were awesome. It is too bad they didn't really succeed but I'm glad I got to see Ronnie live a few times before he passed.

As others have mentioned, Montrose deserves to win this poll but sadly it probably won't. Let's at least enjoy them with some godly footage!

Hey, I wasnít ragging on Montrose. I just said I didnít know who they were until Sam joined VH. It was just a piece of information. It wasnít me saying because I didnít know who they were, they must suck. Iím just telling you I never heard of them. I also prefaced it with the fact that I was still pretty young and learning music. I donít hate the music. Itís just not my favorite. But I voted for them in this poll.

And Iím not voting against Extreme because I think Nuno is cocksucker. I just donít like their music and never did.

Fuck Brook. He thinks if something didn't make it to the jukebox at Giuseppe's Pizzeria on Bath Ave in 1981..it wasn't known....

A little trivia that some don't know.
There were TWO Montrose alumni who shared the stage with Van Halen. We all know about Sammy.

But Alan Fitzgerald, who played bass on the second Montrose record, played keyboards for both versions of VH, the one with Sammy, and the one with Dave, since he played on the 07 and 12 tours.
