BTW, I like audience participation. We did the no audience for CNN. It's time to go back. This is an election of immense importance. Public deserves to participate in ALL aspects of it. I wanna hear Trump/Harris booed or whoo'd. It's always been that way. I want that influence. Gets me hyped and the tv viewing audience hyped. Yes, I'm aware of Kennedy/Nixon. Ancient history.
An audience favors Republican candidates. Dems know that

I'd like to see a debate with actual substance, no crowd. No two minute answer with a 30 second or 1 minute response. Give each candidate as long as it takes to answer the question. The moderator actually moderates and forces them to answer a question and keep it about policy and how they expect to accomplish said policy. What we've had since the advent of social media era debates is bumper sticker bullshit with no substance in these debates. Bring in live fact checkers to allow the moderators to ask follow up questions.

Substance?
You wouldn't get that under any circumstance. Maybe from a Rand type, but those kinds of nerds don't run and couldn't get elected anyway. Some of you and the pining for Lincoln/Douglas.
