While we're on the topic, something has always bothered me.

The OG VH had pretty great videos. Dave himself, in his solo career, was also known for fantastic videos (Gigolo, Yankee Rose, etc).

So how come when they reunite with Dave and do ADKOT, the first video is this horrible Tattoo video?!!? It just looks like a very low budget video. It's definitely not a "hey check it out, CVH is back" video. I'm not talking about the song itself (which is also pretty bad but that's another story), just the video. Couldn't Dave demand a better video? Or was it because of the absence of Pete Angelus?

From my understanding it was all Dave's idea. If you look at how it's shot it's closer to what we've come to expect from Dave. At some point in the mid 90s he went bizarre with his tastes. On the one hand their most famous video and song was a low budget set, stage and some light bulbs.

Compare that to, for example, Extreme's new video which is also not a high budget production, but much better done.

But I agree with your original thoughts...it didn't get people pumped for VH coming back in my opinion.
