Affleck told me this week at the “Air” Party in New York: “Originally I had Jump by Van Halen in that spot. But you can’t license Jump or any Van Halen song. Apparently they’re all fighting with each other and no one can agree on anything. So we gave up. I’m much happier with Tempted anyway.”

I thought Dave and Alex talked on the phone everyday? I guess they aren't now.

Who would have ever thunk it that Ben Affleck would clear the air on why a tribute show for Ed likely will never happen. Ego's. Sad but true. They couldn't even agree on Jump appearing in a movie about the development of Michael Jordan's legendary air jordans. A movie with Matt Damon/Ben Affleck is going to be seen and would have been good for the band to have their song Jump connected with air jordan. Just wow. I will check it out at some point just for Matt/Ben being in a movie together again (The Last Duel was good that was their last one I think).

A cool 3 million. One for Alex one for Dave one for Ed's estate (Wolfie). Not sure what the films budget was but it's likely not worth it at that point. They would probably fight over 3 million to so it would never get done if the studio was stupid enough to pay that for one song, lol.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Big movie, big stars, about an even bigger star and a huge corporate entity. What's not to want to jump on board for

Only think I can think of was that the film was originally made to stream on Amazon. It was only after Amazon saw the finished project and loved it, that they decided to take it to another level. That's when they decided to give it a theatrical release and a huge marketing campaign

So maybe the money to be in a movie meant to be streamed was not all that good and that was the problem. Maybe someone thought they were being lowballed
