The VH universe was never big on live concert recordings/videos.

If you compare with Rush... it's like night and day, Rush has concert videos from almost every tour, save for the very early days.

In addition, I love how there's pro-shot footage of fuckin' Quiet Riot from their club days and how The Doors and Hendrix have pro-shot footage from a decade earlier and all we have from Halen's early years is a blurry, psychedelic 2-minute live vid without sound and Eddie throwing a football on beach for 45 seconds.

And God do I cherish those two videos lol...

Now that you mention it, maybe the excuse of "well, the tech wasn't there back then and it would have been complicated and expensive" is just a shitty excuse for poor management. What if... Van Halen appeared on Midnight Special? How awesome would that have been (and would still be legendary to this day). And don't say Midnight Special was watered down rock for an older audience. Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Montrose, and others just ripped it up on that show and the quality (video & audio) is damn near perfect. That show ran until 1981. My God! We could have had some great footage if someone at Warner Bros made some phone calls

At least we got "You Make Me Crazy." That's close enough to "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," heh.
