    Yup.

A lot of bands have been putting out actual remixes, especially with Apple Music putting out Spatial Audio/Dolby Atmos. Lots of artists are doing an Atmos mix and a stereo mix.

Pearl Jam totally remixed Ten and got rid of all the reverb, REM remixed Monster, even used some different vocal takes, Giles Martin has been remixing the later Beatles records, etc.

McCartney made the point that, you know, if you go see a famous speech in a museum written by Churchill or something, it yellows and fades with age. But Beatles music sounds better and better with age because of technology. The Giles Martin remixes sound amazing.

They could totally remix some or all of the Sammy albums, even do Atmos mixes at the same time, and it doesn’t erase the old mixes. Those of us who would prefer a fuller sound could have it and those who prefer the original could have it.

    I won’t hold my breath.

Yeah, not a fan of all this remixing. The albums were just fine the way they were (Beatles). As long as I can get the original mix in the future should my current CDs fail, but some of these instances the original mix goes out of print (Genesis, The Who, etc.). Not right!

    Default Van Hagar Remasters

I will be shocked if Van Halen ever remixes any album. Especially without Eddie around. I just don’t believe it would ever happen anyway, let alone if he’s not here.

The albums are products of their times, and should just be left alone. But there’s nothing wrong with enhancing the overall sound by remastering them.

I’ll tell you what needs some remastering and volume boosts, are the Sabbath albums.

Remixes I doubt would happen. Remasters, more than likely. And I doubt it’s LWAN that’s getting it, it’s gonna be RHRN. That would fit what Darrin said. We’ll get something, but nothing special. Sammy is probably excited that his albums are just getting some attention.

I like my burgers cooked medium.

Truth be told, fuddruckers changed a lot since I left. They stopped using a patty machine and making their own burgers, they cut out some menu items, and got bought out by Lubys out of Texas. They ruined the onion rings, took away the 2/3rds and 1 lb burgers as well as the exotic meats, and totally changed their cheeses. They also stopped actually making their own buns at the stores. It’s all frozen.

Fuddruckers 2001-2008 was the shit. It was easily the most fun job I had and I even hired my wife. So yeah, I may be partial to it but it’s still better than 5 guys if you can find one.

    Default Van Hagar Remasters

I’ll never look back on the original version of Pearl Jam’s Ten with the remix that was done. Totally superior, especially when it now fits much better with their catalog and how they sound live.

The Atmos stuff is pretty cool. My AirPod Pros and HomePods will simulate it, but something like my 5.1 system, when using Apple Music through the Apple TV, will adapt Atmos to true 5.1 and hearing, say, Bohemian Rhapsody in surround is pretty dang cool.

The original Beatles transfers to CD were not well done and a step backwards in some respects. The remasters around 2010 attempted to fix that. But the actual remixes have added astounding clarity that makes it all such a joy to listen to. Like it’s new.

I was fiddling around with my speakers at home and Cabo Wabo came on and it’s like it didn’t even matter there was a sub. To me, no remix for that album when the tech is around would be like still listening to Sergeant Pepper in mono. Should still exist for those who want it. But most people listen to the stereo version now and totally forget it was originally intended for mono to be the definitive mix. So remixed and in Atmos now I have no issues with.

But with Eddie gone as Brett mentioned I doubt it for OU812, the one in most need. That said, Mike, Sammy, and Al were just as much a part of the band. So if they want it, and Wolf is okay with it, why not?

I'm all for doing Hagar remasters on colored/splattered vinyl and throwing in a 45 with an unreleased tune or two. Something, anything, other than just the regular ole six pack again.

….and I’m quite “in the know” that Al doesn’t want to be a part of anything or anyone VH related. He’s done.
If remasters are coming, Al could’ve easily handed it all over to Warner, or Rhino, etc and let them do the over seeing.

As I said earlier, imagine “Live without a net” on CD in surround sound. I don’t think they owe us anything, personally, but that would be a ultimate bonus.

I would be happy with that. And as EJC and Ashe posted earlier, I'd like everything available from that release - warts and all!

IMO, this version blows away the one on 5150 ...
