Default Question to EVH 5150 Series owners: Pickup selector placement

Does anyone here who owns the 5150 series guitars with killswitch find that the pickup selector is in an inconvenient location on the body? I've not had the opportunity to try one yet, but I feel like the odds of accidentally switching to the neck pickup while strumming are astronomically high. I used to do that on my old Les Paul all the time, but then again I also used to keep my strap low because I was in high school and trying to look like all the cOoL pUnK guitarists so maybe that point is moot. They look like great guitars on paper and I love that they use the Kramer body shape and have a decked floyd, but that switch just looks weird to me. Anyone have any experience they can share?

They put the selector switch in the same place as the Peavey and EVH Wolfgangs have them. I dont like the placement there I hit it all the time when I am tapping I prefer the EBMM EVH placement. Just gotta get used to it bro I guess I had to on the Wolfgangs.

Not really much you can do about it unless you wanna have a luthier relocated it under the volume knob or something and have the hole filled.

It's actually not in the same place as the Wolfgangs - it's worse. It's further down and closer to the neck. Wolfgang switch is about in line with the 18th fret, 5150 is around the 21st.

I know this is blasphemy because every guitar in my household is a Wolf, but I would get an FU Tone axe over the 5150 iconic.

I'm not proud, but it is a true statement.

Unscrew it and turn it 180 degrees so it works in reverse. Like the EVH Wolfgangs. Assuming there’s enough wire to spin it? My brother has one and I found it annoying the selector was backwards from a Wolfgang. The 5150s are like LPs. Ed had the same problem with hitting the switch so he reversed it. I’m used to it and prefer it now. I’d I had a 5150 Seeies I’d spin it. But I know how to solder.

I suppose I should clarify, I've not actually purchased one of these guitars I'm just looking into them. After further research I feel like either a Charvel San Dimas or So Cal might better suit my needs. I do still have a brass trem stopper kicking around I can use in lieu of having the bridge decked. I am glad to see I'm not alone in thinking the selector switch placement is odd.

I had one, and I found it initially to be slightly inconvenient, but adjusted fairly quickly. Not a deal breaker, but not my preference for the switch location. Ultimately, I ended up trading it, but it was a nice guitar.
