Look I appreciate what LeBron is doing. The dude still scores 40 a night and he’s almost 40. That’s pretty amazing. He’s still playing at a very high level, which is crazy. If the Lakers had a good team around him, he’s probably the MVP of the league.

I don’t know that Kobe is a better player than LeBron, but Kobe just had something that made him different than most other players. There’s some intangible there that a lot of other greats haven’t had. Whether it’s work ethic or determination or basketball IQ, he just was at a different level that way. Skill-wise I don’t think there’s ever been a player with the arsenal that Kobe had. Not even MJ. Kobe’s supreme confidence in himself was his greatest asset, and also his greatest weakness.

But in terms of pure talent, LeBron is really fucking good. I don’t know that we will ever see a player at his age playing that well. I’ll be interested to see.

Everything you said is true, I still don't like him.

No one can convince me that he hasn't quit on his teams in playoff games more than once.

That all being said, what he did in the Finals against the 73 win Warriors team was out of this world.

Yeah, that was pretty blatant. The Lakers won that game. Officiating in the NBA just gets worse and worse. There’s been a lot of really really bad calls against the Lakers the last couple weeks. They keep losing by like one possession on terrible calls.

I would have done the same thing. That non-call cost them the game and they need every victory they can get.

I agree with you.

As a fan, I felt him this time, though. This is the 3rd wrong call on the last play of a game that cost the lakers a victory in the last month.

Those 3 wins are the difference between 13th in the west and 6th.

I get that calls even out and final calls aren’t technically more or less important than earlier calls and playing better means it’s not that close.

But still with the west as cluttered, demoralizing, at least temporarily.

I agree. Normally LeBron throwing a fit would be annoying but that was a really really really bad call. I mean that was blatant. And every game right now for the Lakers means so much. And they are playing better so it’s a hard way to lose.

And they’ve lost a lot of games that have been very close at the end on questionable calls recently, so I understand his frustration. That’s a call that he should’ve gotten. I mean he was clearly fouled.

The referees union today said it was a horribly awful missed call. So it was a big deal. That was a game the Lakers deserved and should’ve won.
