Kyrie Irving is expected to arrive for a physical on Monday in Dallas and travel to make his Mavericks debut vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday (10 PM ET, ESPN), source tells ESPN.

As much as I wanted the Lakers to acquire Kyrie, they already have plenty of offense. The Lakers need long wings who can defend and make 3s. Let’s see if Pelinka can actually do something before the trade deadline.

So according to Shams, Nets wouldn’t talk for less than Westbrook, Reaves, Christie, and the 2 firsts, and including the youngsters was too much for LA. Also, Marc Stein reports that for NJ it felt good not sending Kyrie to what they knew was his preferred destination.

Because of the Rui trade, his cap hold, and the assumption they want to resign him, if Westbrook isn’t traded, then the next best thing is to resign him to an extension.

So if he’s not gone by Thursday, I’d expect him to remain with LA regardless of his expiring.

EDIT: Suns offered Chris Paul, Jae Crowder and unspecified picks.

Pretty dumb trade for Dallas. This isn't a good fit at all because both players need the ball in their hands all the time. Maybe they could make it work but Brooklyn got the better end of the deal. Kyrie is gone after this season he wants to go to Lakers and Dallas will be back trying to find Luka more help.

I would be surprised if Suns didn't make some kind of blockbuster move before the trade deadline. If your CP3 you would understand why they would want to do that deal and Kyrie would have been a better fit with Suns but Nets owner Joe Tsai didn't want to give Kyrie want he wants.

I wouldn’t trade shit for Kyrie Irving. Let Dallas have him. I’d rather watch the Lakers go down the toilet this year than have that piece of shit on the team. I really dislike him that much. And he’s a team cancer. You could put him on a team with the five greatest players ever and he’d fuck it up.

I am thrilled he will not be wearing a Laker uniform this year. I’m worried those idiots will try to get him next year as a free agent however.

I agree about him being a team cancer but I just think he felt disrespected in Brooklyn being the one to lure KD there from Warriors. What hurt his value the most was not getting the Covid jab and sitting out (can't blame him) but that pretty much ruined what they had going there with the Nets.

KD has not spoken about this yet but even if he wants out he is smart enough to know the owner won't trade him. They don't have to he has a few more years left on his contract and Irving didn't.

Anyway maybe it will work out for the Nets considering it was Irving causing all the drama there the whole time. Nets likley gonna make another move before the trade deadline but it won't be KD dude is gonna have to play and shut up.
