You're not wrong. I get it.
Really, I think we have both talked about this, that it just isn't "the same" these days. And I think most of that is age, having a family, taking care of my kids. I also don't have the buddies to enjoy it with (my wife couldn't care less).
So if Kyrie comes and the team gets better and, perhaps, they compete or even win, I think I could enjoy that without being as invested, which would mean caring a lot less about the tangential, off the court stuff.
On the hand, perhaps he is a cancer that blows things up. I would say that it's worth the risk. If you sign LeBron at the age they did and then they trade the young assets to get rid of bad deals and to get AD, you've kind of put all your eggs in that basket. All you need is a team to be able to separate themselves from the backlog, and this could do it.

NBA 2022-23 Season Thread
The thing that it comes down to for me is I really just don’t like Kyrie Irving the person. I just think he’s a terrible person. So it’s hard for me to get past what he does on the basketball court knowing all the other things about him that I just don’t like.
I don’t live and die with the team anymore like I used to, so yeah, I can probably accept him coming here and playing and just distancing myself from everything else about him. So I agree with you there.

The Nets should trade his ass for CP3 if Suns are willing to do it. Get that dude out of there he is a cancer. Sure CP3 is almost at retirement age by NBA's standards but it would make Durant happy for the rest of the season and let Phoenix deal with this guy. As long as Suns add Crowder, a future 1st, I like it for the Nets at least for the rest of this season. He's gonna fucking walk so what do you have to lose and Durant will probably want to leave again in the offseason.

If the Lakers could flip Westbrick for Kyrie, they should do it in a heartbeat.

I have to admit it would be amusing seeing KD and Westbrook back together again in Brooklyn because it would piss KD off he definitely out if they did that.
Trading for CP3 is one of the Nets best bets to make KD happy for the rest of this season.
Another player for Nets to look at is Zach Lavine if Bulls decide to trade him for Irving.
If your Nets though if you don't trade him by the deadline you risk losing him for nothing he will walk.
KD is going to want out again though regardless of what move they make. That is why I like the CP3 trade for Nets because it would likely make Durant happy at least for the rest of the season. If I am Nets though I am asking Suns for Crowder, a future 1st round pick. Suns would want Curry back.
Suns would be taking a huge risk though because Irving could bail.

I could see KD asking for a trade soon. Brooklyn should just blow it up. I would not be surprised if KD gets traded back to Warriors by the trade deadline since Warriors are struggling this season. They could give Brooklyn a good haul for KD.
I bet Nash is happy he got out of that shit show in Brooklyn. Knowing how stubborn Marks is as a GM I don't think they will make any moves and just let Irving walk which would be stupid. He seems so obsessed on keeping KD.
Even if they keep this team together they are a 1st or 2nd round exit team. Blow it up Marks.

That is a bad fit with Luka. Kyrie to Phoenix, Bulls or Lakers makes more sense. KD is a better fit with Luka than Kyrie is. If I am Mark Cuban I am holding out for Durant who will surely want out if they trade Irving. Irving won't stay with Mavs if they trade for him. If Mavs do get him though it will be interesting to see how Luka and Kyrie hoop together.
